Today we had the privilege of helping our brothers and sisters of IAFF Local 48 while they attended the funeral of their brother Firefighter Ryan Zwick. It was an honor and privilege to help out. Rest easy brother Zwick!

Today, members of Covington Professional Firefighters Local 38, along with Anderson Professional Firefighters, were proud to assist the brothers and sisters of the Cincinnati Fire Fighters by providing coverage to Station 20 as they honor one of their own.

Our prayers continue to be with the family of Fire Fighter Ryan Zwick and the brothers and sisters of the Cincinnati Professional Firefighters.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of FF Ryan Zwick of the Cincinnati Fire Department. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ryan's family and the brothers and sisters of the Cincinnati Fire Department.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Cincinnati Fire Fighter Ryan Zwick, who courageously battled occupational cancer.

Ryan dedicated his life to serving the citizens of Cincinnati and standing alongside his Brothers and Sisters in the fire service. His strength, professionalism, and commitment to others will not be forgotten.

Today, we ask our members, retirees, families, and community to keep Ryan's loved ones, friends, and fellow fire fighters in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Occupational cancer remains one of the greatest threats facing the fire service. Ryan's passing is a heartbreaking reminder of the sacrifices fire fighters continue to make long after the fire is out.

While returning from training, T1 was flagged down for a cat dangling from the box gutter of a second-story building. T1 engaged, and was able to safely remove the cat.

🎗️ On , we honor survivors, support those still in the fight, and recognize the families, friends, and caregivers who stand beside them every step of the way.

As cancer remains one of the greatest occupational threats in the fire service, the IAFF will never stop pushing for the protections our members deserve.

We are saddened to announce the passing of retired fireman James Patrick “Jim” Halpin Sr. Brother Halpin honorably served the City of Covington for over two decades. Please keep the family and friends in your prayers. 🙏❤️🚒

James Patrick "Jim" Halpin, Sr., 79, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. He was a retired firefighter with 20+ years of service in Covington, KY. After retirement, Jim enjoyed golfing and was an assistant grounds crew manager at Twin Oaks golf course. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Covington (Latonia), KY, and was a member of Covington Moose Lodge #1469 in Taylor Mill, KY. Jim was preceded in death by his parents: James and Dorothy Halpin and brother: Richard Halpin. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Sharon L. Halpin; sons: James P. (Julie) Halpin, Jr. and Steven D. Halpin; siblings: John (Tina) Halpin, Mary (late: Mike) Taney, Pat (late: Denny) Taney, Dennis Halpin and Bill (Kathy) Halpin; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church Street, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. A Celebration of Life for Jim will take place following Mass at the Covington Firefighters Association, 2232 Howell Street, Covington, KY 41014 until 4:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 is serving the family.
