It is with deep sorrow that we, the members of the Lt. Douglas Wade Sharp Memorial FOP Lodge, extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Fire Chief Gary Blocker Jr. who passed yesterday.

Chief Blocker was a dedicated public servant whose leadership, courage, and unwavering commitment to the community will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the example he set for all of us in public safety.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and the entire fire service family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Chief. You will be deeply missed.

Tonight we held the drawing for the raffle to benefit our two injured officers! I can’t begin to thank everyone enough for the support shown to these two guys. All prizes were donated so 100% of the money raised goes to benefit these guys until they get back to full duty. Special thanks going out to Pawn Depot for their donation and American Hunter for taking care of the FFL transfers. The winners are as follows: George Crater, Stephen Culotta, Thomas Duffy, and Erin Stair! Again, thank you all for your support and congratulations to the winners!!

RAFFLE ALERT!!!

During the month of October, two members of the Covington Police Department were injured while in the performance of their duties. In two separate incidents, officers suffered significant injuries to their lower extremities. These officers are now out of work for an extended period of time. The FOP began looking for ideas for a raffle and thanks to some donors we got one put together! Prizes include a Krazy Kajun jambalaya pot and burner set and several boomsticks!! Please consider taking a chance and helping us take care of our injured officers!! Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20!! Drawing to be held on 01/31/25. We will have several people selling tickets or you can comment on this post and we will get you some!! Thanks for your support!!

We are thrilled to announce the resounding success of the 2nd Annual Caroline Darby’s Christmas Wish Charity Golf Tournament! We experienced incredible participation this year, with numerous teams and sponsorships coming together.

You can still register for Caroline Darby's Christmas Wish Golf Tournament, which benefits our annual toy giveaway!

Last year, we were unable to have our toy giveaway due to funding. We are excited to announce we are bringing this amazing event back!

The annual toy giveaway allows underprivileged children in the Covington area to pick out Christmas toys each year, helping make their holiday season brighter and merrier. Historically, Caroline Darby’s Christmas Wish Toy Giveaway has provided toys to approximately 400 children in the Covington area annually.

We ask that you join us for a great day of golf while supporting an amazing cause!

We are thrilled to announce the return of "Caroline Darby's Christmas Wish," an event near and dear to our hearts here at the Covington Police Department. This event allows underprivileged children in the Covington area to pick out Christmas toys each year, helping make their holiday season brighter and merrier. Historically, Caroline Darby’s Christmas Wish Toy Giveaway has provided toys to approximately 400 children in the Covington area annually.

Regrettably, over the past three years, due to COVID-19 restrictions last year, we could not host events that normally raised funds to put on the event. However, we're committed to bringing this invaluable tradition back to life for 2023!

We're hosting a golf tournament at the Royal Golf Club in Slidell, LA to fund this year's event. Registration will begin at 11:30 AM, and a shotgun start at 1:00 PM. Player pricing is $80, and team (4 players) pricing is $320. If your business would also like to sponsor a hole, we have hole sponsorships for $50, including a business sign at the hole. All proceeds will go directly to Caroline Darby’s Christmas Wish Toy Giveaway.
