In Case You Missed Us…

The St. Tammany EDC team was on the move throughout August — connecting with business and community leaders, exchanging ideas with economic development peers, supporting entrepreneurs, and even making a little time for team building.

Here are five places you may have spotted us this month:

🛣️ We convened business and community leaders at the for an executive roundtable focused on the Highway 1077 corridor and its role in St. Tammany’s continued development.

🎤 Russell Richardson shared insights on St. Tammany’s business climate and economic development efforts with the team at KPG Realty.

🤝 Kyle Buckley and Tyler Miller attended the Southern Economic Development Council Annual Conference, connecting with economic development professionals from across the region.

💡 STartUP Northshore brought entrepreneurs together at our offices for a hands-on workshop designed to help local founders strengthen and advance their businesses.

⚜️ And our team traded the office for the sidelines during a staff outing to New Orleans Saints training camp.

From conversations that move our community forward to opportunities that strengthen our team, August gave us plenty of reasons to get out, connect and represent St. Tammany.

As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, we also celebrate one of the most important economic development assets in St. Tammany.

The Causeway has served as a vital gateway connecting the Northshore to regional markets, workforce opportunities, and investment. Its influence can be seen in the growth of our communities, the strength of our business climate, and the exceptional quality of life that continues to attract residents and employers to St. Tammany.

Great communities are built on visionary infrastructure. For 70 years, the Causeway has helped power the growth and success of our parish, and its importance remains just as relevant today as it was in 1956.

Congratulations on this remarkable milestone and thank you to all those who have stewarded this critical piece of Louisiana's infrastructure.

Today marks 70 years since the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway officially opened, forever changing how South Louisiana connects across the lake. The bridge holds the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous span over water in the world.
