EHS FOOTBALL VS MORGAN COUNTY HS - 7:30 AT EHS STADIUM, 8/28
-Tickets are available for purchase at https://gofan.co/ while supplies last.
-Eastside is the HOME team.
-For all football games, please remember to enter the stadium according to your purchased VISITOR/HOME ticket. Also, please be mindful that spectators are not permitted to cross sides of Eastside Stadium.
-Gates open at 6PM and will close after halftime or once manageable capacity is reached.
-Tickets must be redeemed at the gate of entry. Screenshot pictures of tickets are not valid and will not be honored.
-NCS employees may use their school system identification badges and sign-in at the gate for free individual admission to any regular season home EHS non playoff event.
-As a measure of security, only clear bags will be permitted. Please see NCS Stadium Guidelines HERE.
-Only stadium folding seat backs and not full folding chairs are permitted
-Coolers and Portable gas/propane heaters are not permitted.
-Middle school and elementary students must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Anyone under the age of 14 who is not with a supervising adult will not be permitted in the stadium.
-No outside food, drink, or coolers are allowed in the game venue (stadium, gym, field, etc.)
-No to***co or va**ng products.
-No weapons of any kind.
-All items are subject to search by game administrator
-Entry gates will close at halftime or once manageable capacity is reached and entry will not be permitted once gates are closed.

We are so proud of EHS Teacher of the Year, Mr. Baker! Go EAGLES!!!

🌟 TEACHER OF THE YEAR SPOTLIGHT 🌟

Our 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year Spotlight Series continues with Mr. Rodrick O. Baker, Eastside High School’s Teacher of the Year! 🍎

Mr. Baker has spent all 10 years of his Newton County Schools career at Eastside High School. After previously teaching special education and English language arts, he has taken on a new role this school year teaching Business Education.

For Mr. Baker, the inspiration to become an educator came from the teachers who once believed in him and encouraged him to become the best version of himself. Today, he strives to provide that same encouragement for the students he serves.

💬 “I hope each student leaves with the understanding that I truly care about them, believe in their potential, and am committed to helping them succeed both in and beyond the classroom.”

That belief in his students is at the heart of what Mr. Baker loves most about teaching—inspiring young people to become their very best. He wants students to know that someone is in their corner, believes in what they can accomplish, and is committed to helping them reach their potential. ❤️

And here’s a fun fact his students might not know: Mr. Baker once piloted an airplane! ✈️

When he’s not in the classroom—or the cockpit—Mr. Baker enjoys attending live concerts, shows, and sporting events.

📞 Planned Phone Outage – Thursday, August 27

Newton County Schools families, please be aware that AT&T has a scheduled phone outage tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.

During this time, our schools and district offices will be unable to make or receive telephone calls. This may impact families who need to contact schools regarding after-school activities and will also affect our Board of Education offices, which are open until 5:00 p.m.

We are sharing this information in advance so families can plan accordingly. Phone service is expected to resume after 6:00 p.m.
