Bravo Company 1-121 Infantry

Last week, Spartan Week wrapped up and Bravo Company crushed it!

To start the week, soldiers of Bravo Company qualified on their assigned weapon systems, to include the M4 Carbine, the M17 pistol, M249 SAW, the M320 Gr***de Launcher, and the M240B Machine Gun. Blacksheep Mortarmen also had the opportunity to hone their skills and practice on their mortar systems. Ultimately, our soldiers showed extreme motivation and an eagerness to learn and adapt throughout the many different challenges they were faced with.

In the end, Blacksheep soldiers became more confident with their weapon systems and increased the overall readiness and lethality of our formation.

During February IDT, Blacksheep soldiers conducted Tables I and III of the Individual Weapons Qualification.

Soldiers received valuable training and time behind their assigned weapon system ahead of their individual weapon qualifications. Soldiers were coached on how to properly group and zero their weapons and on the fundamentals of marksmanship, culminating in a reflexive fire exercise.

Additionally, Bravo Company cross trained with the Scout Platoon, helping to familiarize our squad designated marksmen on their assigned marksman rifles.

During July IDT, Bravo Company held a change of responsibility ceremony, bidding farewell to outgoing 1SG, SFC Sean Hayes, and welcoming the incoming 1SG, 1SG Christopher Simmons.

SFC Hayes and his contributions to the company during his tenure at Bravo Company are nothing short of exceptional. Serving as the readiness NCO, a Platoon Sergeant, and finally as the 1SG, SFC Hayes and his impact on the soldiers and culture of the company will last for years.

We welcome and look forward to our time with 1SG Simmons. With an exceptional resume behind him, 1SG Simmons brings seasoned expertise and wisdom to the role.

We wish both SFC Hayes and 1SG Simmons the best of luck and success at their respective assignments!

During March IDT, Bravo Company conducted a change of command ceremony, where Blacksheep soldiers wished farewell to the outgoing commander, Captain Kyle Roggow.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Captain Roggow and all of his contributions to the company during his time in command. We all wish him the best in his future endeavors and assignments!

We welcomed the incoming commander, Captain Jacob McAvoy and wish him the best during his time in command. The company is looking forward to his guidance and direction as commander!
