Today we were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles, where one was T-Boned. Happy to say everyone was okay!!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the fallen and injured firefighters, their families, and the US Wildland Fire Service.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service is devastated to share that three wildland firefighters lost their lives on Saturday, June 27, as part of an interagency response to the Knowles and Gore fires along the Colorado-Utah border. Additionally, two crew members were injured in the line of duty and have been transported to a hospital.

Our immediate focus is on supporting their families, friends, and fellow crewmates during this incredibly difficult time.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service stands united with the USDA Forest Service in grief and in our unwavering support for the loved ones left behind. Their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Half way through June and it’s definitely been a busy month. Fires, medical calls, community events and more.

This last drill night was a special night for Highland Fire Department. 06/16/26 we pinned the first ever female Deputy Chief for Highland, Liliana Causor! We are beyond proud to have her as our DC. She has more than earned it. We know she will continue to make this department and this community proud!

Look at aftermath of last night's human caused fire. At 2217 last night, Naches, Gleed and Highland Fire were paged for a brush fire start at Ranger Rd and Naches/Tieton Grade, in Naches. At the peak of our 20+ mph wind gust, the incident quickly turned into a 2nd alarm brush with structure protection. Yakima, West Valley, Nile, and Naches Heights joined the incident. Incident Command was terminated @ 0316. Several residential structures were threatened last night, none damaged. No firefighter injuries were reported. Please be safe out there.

An eventful day in the neighborhood for the Highland Fire Department. We got to visit Marcus Whitman Elementary School k-2 grade for their field day! Slightly sun burned and completely soaked, despite the winds the kids had a blast! 🚒

Another small fire(100'x100') off of N. Tieton Road. Great stop on fire. It did take out a couple of out buildings, but were able to keep from main structures and haystacks.

Yesterdays Adventure was a trip to Tieton Elementary School where we got to participate in their end of the year feild day! It was our first year and we hope to participate for years to come. We got to soak the kids, eat snow cones and interact with the community.

It was a BLAST to say the least!
We even got to meet some kiddos who hope to become firefighters when they grown up 🚒👩🏻‍🚒👨🏽‍🚒
