We were thrilled to welcome New York State Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado to E.J. Arthur Elementary School for a special visit with Miss Anderson’s first-grade class!
Students had the opportunity to hear him read a story, ask questions, and engage in a fun and meaningful conversation. The excitement in the room was undeniable—especially when students learned that he doesn’t like spiders!

It was a wonderful experience for our first graders to connect with a state leader in such a personal and memorable way. We are grateful to Lieutenant Governor Delgado for taking the time to visit our classroom and for his continued support of public education.

Wait... there's only ONE month until graduation?! 🤯🎓

That was the reaction from seniors Myla Meacher, Sophia Curik, James Warren, and Cameron Daoust recently as they checked off May 26th in their "Six 26ths to 2026" countdown.

With another 26th behind them, the Class of 2026 is officially one month away from the big day. Next stop: 06/26/26, when the Riverhawks walk across the stage and into their next chapter!

Coxsackie-Athens Middle School was very excited to bring back Field Day! Students spent the day enjoying a variety of fun activities, including Musical Hoops, Giant Volleyball, the Water Balloon Toss, Fish Bowl Relay, Sponge Bucket Relay, and Dice Capades. Students also enjoyed a dunk tank where they got the chance to splash their teachers, plus a visit from Kona Ice to help beat the heat!

Field Day was a great way for students to celebrate the end of the school year and cool off on a warm day. Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this event such a success.

We would like to make families aware that there were two separate situations involving emergency responders this morning.

First, there was a medical situation involving a student on one of our buses this morning. Emergency services responded and transported the student for further evaluation. The situation was handled quickly and appropriately by staff and first responders. Counselors have also met with students. Shout out to other students, Audrey, Savannah, and Liam, on the bus who were incredibly helpful in assisting the bus driver during this incident. We are so proud!

Separately, our fire alarm system was activated due to a reported smell coming from a Middle School Bathroom. In an abundance of caution, Central Hudson and the Fire Department were called to inspect the building. All safety protocols were followed promptly and appropriately. Students and staff safely evacuated the building while emergency responders investigated. After a full inspection, the fire department cleared the building, and normal school activities resumed. We want to assure families that there was no fire or active emergency.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority.

On May 19th, the High School Counseling Office welcomed students, families, staff, and scholarship hosts to the 2026 Scholarship & Award Night in the high school auditorium. The evening was especially meaningful as it marked the return of the ceremony for the first time since 2019.

Each spring, the CAHS Scholarship Committee meets to thoughtfully and meticulously select the most deserving graduates for these honors. Additionally, many scholarship hosts take time to review applications submitted by our students personally. We are incredibly grateful to the scholarship hosts who entrust us with this meaningful process, and we were excited to welcome many of them as part of this special evening.

This year, nearly $50,000 was awarded through the 90 scholarships and awards that were available to the Class of 2026.

A big thank you to Mrs. Mozzillo for visiting EJA to meet with our fourth-grade students who will soon be venturing to the Middle School! Students had a wonderful opportunity to learn more about band, explore different instruments, and begin thinking about instrument selection for the next school year. We appreciate the time and excitement Mrs. Mozzillo brought to this experience as students prepare for this exciting next step!
