Recently through the joint efforts of Cozad Volunteer Fire Department, Cozad Police Department, Cozad Rural Fire Board, and the City of Cozad we were able to purchase the old Cozad Services building to help with the crowding of these buildings and to be able to continue to serve our community and fire district to the best of our abilities. While this is only a short-term fix and the most cost-effective decision as we continue our goal of a new fire hall in the future, this purchase will allow us to be able to take some strain off our current situation to allow for time to continue to plan for the future. The building will be used for housing our smaller apparatus and allow for additional storage of gear freeing up storage for medical supplies as well as addressing safety concerns in the current hall. We appreciate the willingness of all these groups to come together on this project. The building was graciously purchased by the Cozad Rural Fire Board and deeded to the city. The city will be responsible for insuring the building, providing maintenance, and utilities. Watch our page as our members volunteer their time to make this addition to our current department. We truly appreciate all the support we have received from the community and will continue to raise funds towards a new hall.

Tuesday night CVFD trained on camper incidents, recovery and extrication. Thanks to a donor for the camper, Spotanski Construction for the use of their lot and all our volunteers fire putting in the time to train. All training was done with props and equipment we use, on and off of, a regular basis.
