Nathan Butler For Colorado House District 26

Nathan Butler For Colorado House District 26 My name is Nathan Butler and I'm running for Colorado House District 26 as a Republican.

Morning everyone, First off, I want to extend my sincere congratulations to Meghan Lukens on her victory. Representing House District 26 is a tremendous responsibility, and for the sake of her constituents, I wish her nothing but success in serving our community.

To everyone who supported me, volunteered, and believed in this campaign—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Despite being outspent approximately 30 to 1, we built a grassroots movement that I believe reflected the voices and concerns of Northwest Colorado. This wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, and I know that it is disappointing. Please remember not to lose heart; there are greater plans for all of us, and this particular outcome is part of that journey. I am deeply grateful for the passion, time, and energy each of you invested in our shared vision for the future.

Now, it’s time for all of us to come together and address the pressing economic challenges facing our district. Our communities need strong leadership to tackle the impact of job losses, rising costs, and the energy transition. I look forward to seeing Meghan work on behalf of HD-26 to find real solutions to these issues, and I hope to continue to see support for efforts that strengthen and uplift Northwest Colorado.

Thank you again for your support, your faith, and your friendship. I’m proud of what we tried to accomplish together, and I hope I can be given the opportunity to continue working alongside you to advocate for the needs of our local communities moving forward.

Well, everyone, it's Monday night, and we're less than 24 hours away from the election. If you haven't turned in your ballot yet, please make sure you do so, as every single vote is going to matter. Let's make our voices heard and send a resounding message that the agenda of the Front Range elites is not the direction the people of Northwest Colorado support.

We must come together as a district, regardless of party, to push back against the current administration's policies that have negatively impacted our communities. House District 26 needs to unify, stand strong, and demand solutions to the challenges we've been facing.

There's no better way to drive that change than by electing a candidate who represents a truly grassroots effort—a David versus Goliath—standing up against the "dark money" elites who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in an effort not to silence my voice, but yours. Let's take a stand for our future.

Don’t let Denver elites decide for us—get out and vote to bring real Northwest Colorado grit to the Capitol. Make sure to vote by 7 PM!

"My opponent has said that he — he said on social media, he said it at debates and forums, he said it in The Steamboat Pilot — that he wants to regulate access to abortion,” said Lukens.

There are only 13 days until the election. Make sure you fill out your ballot! We have a lot of work to do to recover from the situation our current leadership has put us in, but together we can make a difference!

It’s troubling to see more blatantly false and misleading ads, especially when my opponent, who acknowledges that “dark money” groups are spending on her campaign, refuses to take the simple extra step of condemning the lies being spread on her behalf. In an era when election interference and misinformation are such big issues, it’s disappointing that she won’t publicly call out the “dark money” groups spreading these false messages to boost her campaign.

You could argue that this is just politics, but it absolutely hurts public trust in our elections. People in House District 26 deserve better than a leader who turns a blind eye to lies spread for their benefit. My opponent’s response of “I can’t control what dark money groups say” only gives the green light for malicious lies and misinformation to continue unchecked.

Ignoring this problem is cheating the public. We need to remove this fraud from our system. If my opponent won’t address these issues because they help her, she should reconsider her position in leadership. We need leaders who will stand up for honesty and integrity in our political system—and right now, her silence is deafening.

This shouldn't have to be said, but sadly, we have candidates that won't call out election misinformation being sent on there behalf, so here's some info from the secretary of state:
Fighting Election Disinformation
"This election year, Colorado voters may face more misinformation than ever before."
"Election misinformation is often designed to divide our communities, and undermine trust in elections."

Any candidate who refuses to call out dark money groups from sending misinformation to their constituents should be voted out immediately.

“I can’t control what dark money groups have to say,”- Meghan Lukens

This election year, Colorado voters may face more misinformation than ever before. And new high-tech tools are making it harder to spot the fakes.

Tacit support: when someone agrees to or approves of something without saying so, often because they don't want to admit to it.

“I can’t control what dark money groups have to say,” -Meghan Lukens

I have publicly condemned organizations spreading lies and misinformation about my opponent, who is not willing to do the same in my case to which I will say, if she refuses to condemn it she is giving her tacit support for lies and manipulations being sent to voters on her behalf. This type of material has no place in our election process and it's sad that we have candidates in colorado who are not willing to call out this type of manipulation in our election system. The people deserve better.

It's been a busy few days, with lots of traveling in and out of the district, meeting with our important national and state partners. I also met with voters through forums, meet-and-greets, etc. I even got to do a little shooting at one of the meet-and-greets, and we're not gonna slow down until election day.
