Earlier this evening, Station 48 was dispatched for an activated CO alarm to a residence on Cranbury Neck Rd. While enroute, dispatch advised the resident reported smoke coming from the basement. The 1st alarm was requested and due to location a tanker assignment. On arrival there was significant smoke coming from the basement, all occupants were out of the house. A line was stretched to the interior and a fire was located inside the heating/ac unit. Crews from 48 and 49 opened up the unit and extinguished the remaining fire and all other units were recalled. Units ventilated and overhauled the area prior to returning. Good job by all.

Last evening, the Cranbury Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire with exposure on Hightstown Cranbury Station Rd. This brought a mutual aid box alarm for the building. On arrival Chief 41 and Deputy 48 confirmed 2 vehicles well involved but no exposure to the building, and held with the units from 48, 41, and 57. Rescue 48 crew along with Engine 41s crew worked to extinguish the fire while Tanker 57 supplied Rescue 48 with water. Crews made quick work of extinguishing the fire, with some extra time required for the leaking fuel tank. While operating, a fire alarm was received from a nearby warehouse and Ladder 41 covered the call from the scene. Once the fire was extinguished, mutual aid units were released and Cranbury units stood by until the vehicles were removed by George's Garage. Thank you to our mutual aid companies and great job by all.
