🎉 Congratulations to Marlene Pedroza, the winner of the Buddy Card Drawing at Hollis T. Dietz Elementary! 🚔👏

The Buddy Card program was created by Officer Simpson at Dietz to encourage students to interact and engage with police officers in a positive way. To complete a Buddy Card, students had to collect signatures from 10 different police officers from anywhere they met them.

We had an amazing 22 completed Buddy Cards turned in by our students in just a few weeks! Marlene went above and beyond by turning in 7 of the 22 completed cards which is 70 different police officer signatures, and her name was drawn as the winner! 🏆

As her prize, Marlene was awarded an official CISD Police shoulder patch! 👮‍♂️💙

Thank you to all of the students who participated and to the officers who helped make this program such a great success. Building positive relationships between students and law enforcement is what this program is all about!

🌟 Student Spotlight 🌟

This year marked the inaugural launch of the Hollis T. Dietz Elementary School Safety Patrol, and we are incredibly proud to recognize 14 amazing students who stepped up to serve in this very first year. In honor of their leadership, service, and dedication to keeping our campus safe, each student was awarded an official CISD Police Department badge patch—a meaningful symbol of their role in establishing this important program.

These students have truly showcased what it means to be leaders among their peers, helping create a safe and positive environment for everyone at Dietz each day.

We would also like to celebrate two students for their perfect attendance to School Safety Patrol during the 2nd semester of the 2025–2026 school year:
👏 Tinley Levins
👏 Courtney Jones

A special recognition goes to Tinley Levins, who not only achieved perfect attendance for the entire 2025–2026 school year to school safety patrol, but also consistently went above and beyond by volunteering for Safety Patrol on days she was not even scheduled. In recognition of her exceptional dedication, Tinley was also awarded an official CISD Police Department Challenge Coin—a truly special honor!

👏 Congratulations to all of our Student Spotlight honorees—your hard work, leadership, and commitment make Dietz a better place!

This week we recognized Administrative Assistant Day, and we want to take a moment to highlight someone who keeps things running behind the scenes.

CISD Operations, Communications, and Police Department all appreciate everything Maria does for us each and every day. From keeping us organized to making sure the details are handled, her work does not go unnoticed.

Thank you, Maria, for your dedication, professionalism, and the impact you make across our district.

We’re proud to share a behind-the-scenes look at the dedication of our Crandall ISD Police Department.

This video, created by Eddie Penney and his team, highlights recent active shooter training scenarios designed to prepare our officers for real-world emergencies. These trainings strengthen coordination, sharpen response strategies, and reinforce our commitment to keeping students and staff safe.

We appreciate the hard work, professionalism, and continued readiness of our Crandall ISD PD officers who go above and beyond to protect our schools every day. 💙

While our students were away from school Monday, Crandall ISD police officers spent the day engaged in intense Close Quarters Battle (CQB) tactics training. We believe it is vital to train in the same hallways and classrooms we are sworn to protect. This realism ensures that if the unthinkable ever happens, we are ready to act.

This is serious, high-risk, real-world preparation with one singular goal: protecting lives when it matters most. However, protecting our students involves more than just tactical response. When our officers aren’t training for high-risk scenarios, they are training for the "invisible" needs of our students, including:

Autism Response: Ensuring every interaction is handled with patience, understanding, and the right approach.

Trauma-Informed Care: Learning to recognize and respond to the burdens and emotional challenges students may be carrying.

Whether we are training in tactical response or compassionate care, our mission remains the same: a safer, more prepared Crandall ISD.

Thank you again to Eddie Penney for coming out and training with us again. The experience and expertise is second to none.

♾️ 🧩 Tomorrow is Autism Acceptance Day, and it’s an important reminder that awareness is only the beginning, acceptance is the goal.

At our department, we don’t just respond to problems… we build relationships. Our officers are trained to understand autism, recognize sensory sensitivities, and approach every interaction with patience, empathy, and respect.

We are proud to be advocates for individuals with autism and their families.

Every student deserves to feel safe, understood, and valued. This isn’t just part of the job. It’s who we are.

We have a few of our autism patches left. Ask one of officers on your campus for one! 🧩 ♾️

More shots from our recent range day 📸🔥

Huge shoutout to CISD photographer Ted Madden for capturing these awesome moments—he really brought the day to life behind the lens. From start to finish, it was an action-packed experience training with Eddie Penney, pushing limits, dialing in our skills, and learning from one of the absolute best in the game.

We do this for a reason—so we’re better prepared, more disciplined, and ready to keep our students safe when it matters most. That commitment drives every rep, every drill, and every long day on the range.

Grateful for the opportunity, the instruction, and the crew that made it all happen 💪

Stay tuned… more coming soon 👀
