The temperature is rising but our speed limits are the same.

Traveling at these speeds lead to possible jail time and a $999.50 ticket.

While this may seem like “just speeding” to some, excessive speed significantly reduces reaction time, increases stopping distance, and greatly raises the likelihood of serious injury or death in the event of a crash.

Our deputies are committed to keeping our roadways safe for everyone. We encourage all motorists to slow down, buckle up, and make safety their top priority.

The Forest County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our thanks to 911 Dispatcher Jason Theune, who celebrates 25 years at the department today. When Jason started Shrek and Monsters Inc. were still in theaters, Shaggy’s - It Wasn’t Me was topping the Billboard Charts, and Wikipedia had just launched. We thank Jason for his many years of service and hope for many more.

What a great time had by all at Kickball with a Cop during Prevention Week! This was an amazing turnout from the community, tons of smiles, and a day full of fun, teamwork, and positive connections. A huge thank you to former Green Bay Packers Ahman Green and Dorsey Levens for joining us as special guests and helping make the event even more memorable.

Events like these remind us how important community engagement and healthy, positive activities are for our youth and families.
Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day such a success!

Don’t miss out on the rest of the activities taking place throughout Prevention Week, we look forward to seeing everyone there!

🚔🐾 Please help us welcome the newest member of the Sheriff’s Office family, K9 Shadow! 🐾🚔

K9 Shadow started his first week yesterday. Shadow and Deputy Aaron Enders are already hard at work training to keep our community safe. Shadow specializes in narcotics detection & tracking. Shadow is also trained in suspect apprehension. He is eager and fast, so please don’t run because we have to do his paperwork while he has all the fun.

Did you know:

🐕 Police K9s can track human scent over several miles.
🐕 A trained K9’s nose is estimated to be up to 100,000 times stronger than a human’s.
🐕 K9 teams regularly assist with locating missing persons, narcotics detection, evidence recovery, and suspect searches.

While Shadow may look intimidating on duty, off duty he enjoys belly rubs and barking at absolutely nothing at 2 AM.

We’re proud to have K9 Shadow protecting and serving alongside our deputies. If you see the team out in the community, be sure to say hello (to the handler too if Shadow approves). 🐕‍🦺💙
