Mole Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa

Mole Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Biindigen! Boozhoo! Aniin! "Zaaga'inganiin" Sokaogon Chippewa Community Located in Mole Lake, Crandon, Wi

Sokaogon means the "Post in the Lake people" because of a spiritual significance to a post - possibly the remains of a petrified tree - that stood in Post Lake near here. The Sokaogon Ojibwa are also known as the Lost Tribe because the legal title to the 12-mile square reservation from the Treaty of 1854 was lost in a shipwreck on Lake Superior. The band, under the leadership of Chief Willard Ackl

ey, finally, after a long struggle, received federal recognition and reservation status in 1937. The Sokaogon (Mole Lake) Band enjoys three beautiful lakes either on or adjacent to the small reservation: Mole Lake, Rice Lake and Bishop Lake.

Aspiring Entrepreneurs! Nicolet College is excited to announce their third cohort begins Tuesday, September 15th.

Whether someone is dreaming about opening a storefront, launching a service business, growing a side hustle, or finally taking that first entrepreneurial step, this eight-week program provides the structure, mentorship, and accountability to help make it happen.
Participants don't just sit through lectures—they build a business. Throughout the program, they will:
Develop a complete, launch-ready business plan
Create financial projections and startup strategies
Work one-on-one with an experienced business mentor
Learn branding, marketing, market research, and funding strategies
Deliver a polished pitch presentation
Build relationships with fellow entrepreneurs throughout the Northwoods
Perhaps most exciting, graduates of the program have the opportunity to compete in our Spark Pitch Competition, where selected entrepreneurs may receive Spark funding to help launch or grow their businesses.
This has become much more than a class. It's an entrepreneurial ecosystem where participants gain knowledge, confidence, mentors, and a network of people cheering them on long after the eight weeks end.

If you know someone who has ever said:
"I've always wanted to start my own business..."
"I have an idea, but I don't know where to begin."
"I'd love to turn my side hustle into something bigger."..this course was designed for them.

Classes begin Tuesday, September 15 and meet Tuesday evenings from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at Nicolet College. The course is an eight-week, hands-on experience that takes participants from idea to action
