We appreciate Epic Midstream's generosity in donating a golf cart to the Crane Police Department. The cart will be used mainly within the Crane Independent School District, providing our officers with quicker and more convenient access to all buildings, particularly during the construction period.

On April 25, 2024, the County Attorney’s Office conducted inspections of each Game Room within Crane County for violations of the County Ordinance. During the inspection of Five Star Game Room located at 416 S. Gaston, several violations of the County Ordinance were observed, including a gaming device paying out in excess of the amounts allowed by Texas law and local ordinances. The Game Room was notified of the violations and that the Game Room’s license to operate within Crane County was revoked effective immediately.

As a reminder, any Game Room operating within Crane County is required to follow Texas law and all local ordinances, including ensuring that gaming devices not have payouts for a single play that are more than ten times the cost to play or $5.00, whichever amount is less. Any machine that allows for payouts in excess of the legal limits is considered an illegal gambling device under Texas law, and operators, employees and patrons operating or using an illegal gambling device could be subject to arrest and criminal charges.

Crane County and the County Attorney’s Office remain committed to ensuring all Game Rooms licensed to operate within Crane County comply with Texas Law and local ordinances.
