Citizens of Crane County:
I hope everyone stays safe for the upcoming Easter Holiday Season. With that in mind, I felt it was important to reach out and share an update. While I would have liked to post more frequently on social media to keep you updated, it seems that we have only been able to make it a priority to inform the public of major incidents and significant events that impact the safety and well-being of our community. The daily operations of the Sheriff's Office keep us incredibly busy. However, as your elected Sheriff, I believe in absolute transparency and accountability.
To ensure my office meets that standard of transparency, I began presenting a monthly report of the Crane County Sheriff’s Office operations to the Commissioners’ Court in January of this year. Moving forward, I will be sharing the same information here on our page.
In the meantime, an anonymous complaint from an "Annoyed Crane County Taxpayer" was recently mailed to the County Judge regarding the operations, budget, and staffing of our office. As per policy, complaints are normally signed and submitted. Instead of dismissing an unsigned letter, I have chosen to break down every question to ensure that all express concerns were thoroughly addressed.
I ask that you please read the attached official statement for a detailed look at how we responsibly manage our personnel, fleet, and facilities. I read this statement out loud in commissioner’s court and it was emailed to all Crane County employees and put into the Crane News and now I’m posting it on our page. I understand that this may open me up to scrutiny and more anonymous complaints. If any citizen ever has questions regarding the operations of the Crane County Sheriff's Office, my door is always open.
