Sunday, the 8th, is daylight savings, and it's time to set your clock ahead 1 hour. It is also a reminder to test your smoke detectors. It is recommended that you have a smoke detector in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on each floor of your home. Smoke alarms need to be replaced every 10 years. You can obtain free smoke detectors through the Red Cross. The best part of this program is that their volunteers will even install them. All you need to do is call and schedule an appointment.

Recently, CVFD purchased new rope equipment that will make both rescuers & victims safer during an incident.

The equipment improves department capabilities & helps us meet rescue standards & maintain rescue certifications.

CVFD received a $5,000 grant & Cranesville Borough applied for & received an additional grant for $3,877 on behalf of the fire department to assist in the purchase. Community fundraisers paid for the remainder of the equipment.

We are grateful for the collaboration to get this vital equipment in house. THANK YOU for your continued support 🙏 🚒
