This past weekend, our members participated in specialized training focused on heat-related emergencies in preparation for the upcoming summer months. The training covered how the body regulates heat, as well as the recognition and treatment of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. In addition, members reviewed Firefighter Down CPR procedures, highlighting the importance of rapid intervention, as heat-related illness remains a leading contributor to sudden cardiac arrest among firefighters operating on duty.
