Show your people how much you appreciate them by recognizing them as your Partners in Philanthropy (PiPs) at AFP-RI's National Philanthropy Day celebration on November 16 at 5:30pm at the Graduate Providence!

What IS a PiP? A PiP is a person or business who has furthered your non-profit organization's mission through exemplary volunteer contributions, outstanding leadership, and/or significant generosity.
PiPs will be honored in the following ways:

🌟Name, photo, and tribute displayed during the National Philanthropy Day celebration on November 16 at the Graduate;
🌟Photo/logo and written tribute of your PiPs exemplary work in the 2023 digital event program book;
🌟Certificate and Partner in Philanthropy pin;
🌟Special Patner in Philanthropy photo op!

Each organization can honor up to 2 Partners in Philanthropy. A Partner in Philanthropy can be an individual, a couple, a family, a small group, or a business.

You can do this in 4 easy steps:
1) Contact your PiP(s) to let them know you’d like to honor them! Make sure that your PiP is comfortable with this public recognition. And remember to ask for their photo or logo, which you will submit as part of the PiP registration process.
2) Register your PiP(s)!
3) Ask your PiPs to join you at the National Philanthropy Day celebration on November 16.
4) Register yourself and your PiP(s) for the celebration. Registration for each PiP is $50, for AFP-RI members $75, for non-AFP-RI members $95.

Congratulations to Sam Lawrence, CFRE, AFP - Rhode Island Chapter-RI member who obtained his CFRE in March. Sam has been an AFP member since 2019 and previously served on the professional development committee. Sam began his fundraising career at the Rhode Island Foundation as their first fundraising apprentice. Following experiences fundraising for the Rhode Island Free Clinic and the Groden Network, Sam was promoted to Director of Philanthropy and Communications at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island. He is currently working to wrap up a $7 million capital campaign to build a new clubhouse in Woonsocket. Sam enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and searching for the best shops and restaurants in Providence.

“Pursuing my CFRE was validating and rewarding. The certification has helped build my confidence to take on this new leadership role. If you are considering pursuing the exam, my advice is to just do it. There will never be a “perfect” time to do it.”

Panel discussion topic: Philanthropy Across Generations: Millennial, Gen Z, Gen X, and Baby Boomer Donors Speak Out

This panel discussion will provide fundraisers with an inside look at philanthropy through the eyes of local philanthropists. Discussion will focus on what donors are thinking these days, and if/how they’ve changed the way they give coming out of the pandemic.

Come early and treat yourself to breakfast while catching up with old and new colleagues.

Agenda: Continental breakfast and networking reception from 8:00 – 8:40 AM. Speaking program begins at 8:45 AM.

Pricing: AFP Members are $20. Non-Members are $40.
