Road closure to impact Schenck Road in Crawfordsville as part of a local project
CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure in connection with a local project.

Beginning on or after Monday, June 1, local contractors will close Schenck Road between the stop sign at Big Four Arch Road and Wabash Avenue. The purpose of this closure is to tie in the existing Schenck Road to the new section of roadway. This project is expected to last until October, but is weather-dependent and subject to change.

The official detour around the closure follows Russell Avenue to Jennison Street. INDOT encourages drivers to seek an alternate route and use extra caution in and around work zones.

Road closure to impact State Road 234 east of Ladoga
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure that will impact State Road 234 in Ladoga.

Beginning on or after Monday, June 1, INDOT contractors will close S.R. 234 between Messick Street and Chestnut Street. The purpose of this closure is to replace a box culvert. Construction is anticipated to last until the end of August but is weather and subject to change.

The official detour around the closure follows S.R. 75 to S.R. 236 to U.S. 231 back to U.S. 234. INDOT encourages drivers to seek an alternate route and to use caution while traveling in and around work zones.

Even though it is raining, Montgomery County Emergency Management & Homeland Security and Montgomery County Central Communication Center will still conduct the regularly scheduled outdoor warning siren test today.

This is ONLY a test. There is no severe weather forecasted for our area at this time.

Remember, outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outdoors. Always have multiple ways to receive weather warnings, especially when indoors or while sleeping.

Nightly lane closures to impact I-74 across several counties.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces nightly lane closures across several counties in West Central Indiana.

Beginning on or after Thursday, May 21, INDOT contractors will close one lane at a time in both directions of I-74 between the Indiana/Illinois State line and just east of State Road 39 (Exit 58 in Lizton). Vermillion, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone, and Hendricks Counties will all be impacted.

The purpose of the lane closures is to refurbish pavement markings along the interstate. Work will be limited to 3 miles and one travel lane in each direction, with no work scheduled over Memorial Day Weekend starting at noon on Friday until 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Work hours for this project will be between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m.

The project is anticipated to be complete in a 2-week timeframe but is weather-dependent and subject to change. INDOT encourages drivers to use extra caution and avoid distractions while traveling in and around work zones.
