Today we kicked off Fire Prevention Week with a very special visit to Riversink Elementary School! ❤️

We had a great time teaching some of our youngest community members the importance of fire safety and we are looking forward to getting to visit with many more Wakulla County students this month!

October is both Fire Prevention Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Wakulla County Fire Rescue is proud to recognize the importance of both.
🔥 Fire Prevention Week 2026 reminds us that fire safety starts with being prepared. Test your smoke alarms, make a home fire escape plan, practice that plan with your family, and always know two ways out.
🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness Month reminds us to prioritize our health and encourage those we love to do the same. Early detection can save lives.

🏈🔥 Fueling the War Eagles! 🔥🏈

Tonight, a few of our Wakulla County Fire Rescue employees utilized their own time, money and resources to provide and serve dinner to the Wakulla High Football teams 💪🏼

Some of our staff members, along with AirLife 1 Crawfordville and the Wakulla County Fire Cadets were proud to spend the evening giving back to these hardworking student-athletes and showing our support for the War Eagles both on and off the field. 🦅🏈

This meal was made possible through the generosity of Wakulla County Fire Rescue employees, along with generous donations from AirLife 1, Sonny's BBQ and Posey's Steam Room & Oyster Bar ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make tonight possible and even more proud to be part of such an amazing community!

Congratulations to Chance Weldon of Wakulla County Fire Rescue on receiving the Crawford Masonic Lodge 234 First Responder of the Year award for Firefighter/EMT👏👏

This recognition is a wonderful reflection of Chance’s dedication, commitment, and service to our community. We are proud to have him as a member of the WCFR family and grateful for all that he does to serve the citizens of Wakulla County.

Station 2 had a special visitor stop by recently and even brought some adorable and delicious cookies for us to enjoy! We are so grateful for the support we receive from our community every day.

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation. We honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families who were forever changed, and the brave firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy. As a fire rescue family, we especially remember the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to serve others. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸🕯️
