Upper Freehold Emergency Management

Upper Freehold Emergency Management Preparation is the plans and procedures set in place before a disaster strikes. Examples are having a working sump pump; and trimming trees next to the house.

The Upper Freehold Emergency Operations Plan outlines the procedures taken to prepare for; mitigate against; respond to; and recover from any natural or man made emergency or disaster. Examples are having a supply of medications; fuel for your vehicle and generator.Mitigation is the steps we take to lesson the severity and impact of a disaster. Response are actions taken by emergency response agen

cies, emergency management and the public during an emergency or disaster. Short term recovery deals with restoring essential services to the community. Long term recovery may take years to accomplish such as rebuilding some shore towns after Super Storm Sandy. Communication is a vital link in preparation, mitigation, response and recovery from any emergency. Each family should have an all-hazards weather radio to warn of severe weather ,give amber alerts and other hazards. Make sure you are registered with the Everbridge Reverse 911 call system. Visit the Upper Freehold web page and the page for information and directions. For more information or if you have any questions please contact the Upper Freehold Office of Emergency Management.
