Today was all about celebrating hard work, positive choices, and the dedication these students have shown throughout the year. Our Club Zenith reward trip was amazing. From exploring the majestic redwoods to making memories with friends, this reward trip was well deserved.

We are so proud of each and every one of these students. Thank you for representing Castle Rock with kindness, respect, and enthusiasm. The future is bright with leaders like you! 🦈💙

What a great day! ☀️🌭

Today we celebrated the end of another successful school year with our annual BBQ. It was wonderful to see students, families, and staff enjoying good food, great conversations, and time together before summer break.

As we wrap up the year, we’re grateful for the incredible students, supportive families, and dedicated staff who make Castle Rock such a special place. Thank you to everyone who joined us today and helped make it a fun and memorable event.

🎉 June is Jam-Packed with Fun! Get Ready for End-of-Year Celebrations! 🎉
The countdown to summer is officially on, and we are wrapping up the school year with some incredible events you won't want to miss! Mark your calendars for these major highlights:

🍔 The Annual End-of-Year BBQ! Kick off the festivities on Wednesday, June 3 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Florence Keller Park! We’re firing up the grill for delicious food and setting up awesome lawn games. Parents and guardians, please note you must be present with your child to join the fun. Don't forget to turn in those permission slips!

💦 5th Grade Water Safety Day! Our 5th graders are heading to the Crescent City Harbor on Friday, June 5 for an exciting, hands-on Water Safety Day! Make sure your student doesn't miss out—grab a permission slip from the front office today.

🎓 The Big Finale: Graduation Day! Thursday, June 11 marks the Last Day of School, and we are sending our grads off in style at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds! Come cheer on our students:

MAY NEWS FROM THE ROCK

A Message from Principal Larson
May is a special month to celebrate the people who make Castle Rock such a welcoming and student-centered school community. This month, we are proud to recognize our Classified Star Employee of the Year, Cassie Ankenman, and our Certificated Star Employee of the Year, Wendy Fullerton. Both Cassie and Wendy bring dedication, heart, and excellence to their work, and their contributions make a lasting difference for our students, families, and staff.

May also gives us many opportunities to show appreciation for the incredible team that supports our school each day. We celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, Classified School Employee Week, and School Lunch Hero Day, each of which reminds us of the many caring adults who help students learn, grow, and feel connected.

Thank you to Cassie, Wendy, and all of our Castle Rock staff for the awesome contributions you make to our school community. We are truly Better Together!

CAASPP Testing Continues
At the end of each school year, students in grades 3-8 and 11 take state tests in English Language Arts and Math (and Science in certain grades). These tests are an important way to measure how well students are learning grade-level skills.

Shark Showcase
On Friday, May 29, Castle Rock's students will showcase their artistic talents throughout the day! Join us on campus for an array of performance art, paintings, sculpture, 3D printing, and much more.

2026-2027 School Year
Please submit re-enrollment paperwork if you wish to continue your education at Castle Rock Charter School for the 2026-2027 school year. Talk to your teacher about re-enrolling. We are also now accepting new students for the new school year.
