📣NOW HIRING FULL TIME DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS LABORER. 📣
The Crescent Township Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining approximately 10 miles of township roads, performing snow removal, and managing storm drainage. Key duties include road maintenance, such as patching potholes, roadside mowing, and seasonal, all-hours emergency response for snow and debris removal.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Road Maintenance: Repairing, patching, and maintaining township roads and right-of-ways.
Snow Removal: Plowing and applying de-icing materials during winter months.
Stormwater Management: Cleaning and maintaining storm drains, ditches, and pipes.
Property Maintenance: Mowing, trimming, and cleaning township properties and parks.
Equipment Operation: Operating trucks, plows, mowers, and other heavy construction equipment.
General Duties: Performing manual labor, cleaning, and repairing municipal facilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Licensure: Valid PA driver’s license, with CDL required for operating large equipment.
Residency: Often required to live within a specific radius of the municipal building (e.g., 15 air miles).
Availability: Must be available for on-call emergencies, including weekends and nights, especially for snow removal.
Must be able to lift and move heavy objects.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
This position reports to the Public Works Foreman.
Excellent health, eye and dental benefits. Wage, vacation, sick and holiday time are based on union contract.
