This week, our headquarters in Salem is glowing red as we join the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters tribute.

Each year, fire departments and communities across the nation shine red to honor the firefighters who gave their lives in service, and to stand with the families who carry their legacy forward.

Nearly 200 firefighters have died in the line of duty since 1881 in our state. Their names are etched into the memorial wall at DPSST, and their stories continue to inspire our mission and our commitment to a fire-adapted Oregon.

As we light the night, we remember and honor those we lost. We invite our community to join us in reflecting on the courage and sacrifice of our fallen fire heroes.

Crews focused on pump and roll operations, establishing a reliable water source, and deploying progressive hose packs. Training like this helps ensure we’re ready to respond quickly and effectively when fire season hits.

We’re proud of the continued effort our crews put in to stay prepared and keep our community safe.
