County Council worked hard this morning cleaning, setting up & decorating the 4-H Building for the 2026 Might Howard County Fair! 🍀

🍀Intermediate 4-H Trip Recap🍀
Our Intermediate 4-H members had a great time exploring northwest Iowa! 🐮⛵️🎢
Youth toured Jones Dairy, visited the Okoboji Classic Cars Museum, stopped at the Grotto of the Redemption, enjoyed views of Five Island and West Okoboji Lakes, and spent time at Arnolds Park.
It was a fun two days filled with learning, new experiences, and making memories with friends!

As the Howard County Fair approaches - these three have been working with their dairy projects at the Mighty Howard County Dairy barn. Come see the dairy show on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 9 a.m.

Today - Monday, June 8 Horse workouts are cancelled. We got lots of lovely rain making the arena not workable to tonight. Next workout is Monday, June 15.

📣 Howard County 4-H Fair Entry Deadline Reminder 📣

Just a reminder that all Blue Ribbon fair entries must be completed by May 31 at 11:59 p.m. ⏰
No late entries will be accepted.

Please review the May Newsletter for step-by-step instructions on how to enter, and use the Mighty Howard County Fairbook for department and class details while completing your entries.

💳 Stall fees will be paid electronically through the Blue Ribbon website. This system is used for both livestock and static project entries.

🐴 Horse Exhibitors:
Be sure to enter your horse’s stalled name and add any additional horses under Horse Name. Then proceed with class entries. Stall fees should match the number of horses you are exhibiting.

🐄 Beef Exhibitors:
Class 4 must submit purebred registration paper copies to the Extension Office by May 31.

📄 All livestock exhibitors (horse, beef, sheep, swine, meat goats):
Drug affidavits and disclosure statements must be completed and returned to the office by May 31.

If you have questions, please contact the Extension Office at 563-547-3001. Office closes at Noon today.

This morning, 3rd-5th grade students blended delicious tropical smoothies by pedaling the blender bike! It was definitely a hit and the perfect refreshing treat after all the hard work during track and field day! 🍍🍌🚲🥭🍊
Riceville Community School District
