☀️🌡️With extreme heat expected to impact our area this coming week, we encourage everyone to take precautions to stay safe.
Drink plenty of water.
Stay in air conditioning as much as possible.
Wear lightweight, light colored clothing.
Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
Check on elderly neighbors, family members.
Remember, hot and dry conditions can also increase the risk of fires, please use extra caution.
Heat ExhaustionSymptoms include:
Heavy sweating, pale , cold, and clammy skin, Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting. Nausea or vomiting, fast, weak pulse, muscle cramps.
Heat StrokeSymptoms include:
Core body temperature above 104°F (40°C). Hot, red, and dry skin (lack of sweating). Confusion, altered mental state, or slurred speech. Rapid, strong pulse. Loss of consciousness or seizures.
If you experience signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, move to a cool place immediately, hydrate, and call 911 if symptoms are severe.
