We had some help from a special guest on where the new sharps box is located!

Thank you Dr. Linda Caroll, Union County Board of Health Chairman, for showing us where it is & how to safely dispose of sharps. 😊

FYI! The sharps drop-off box has moved to the parking lot of Union County Emergency Management.

The FDA recommends you place all needles and other sharps in a sharps disposal container immediately after they have been used. Then you can dispose of the sharps containers by putting them in the new drop box.

When your sharps disposal container is about three-quarters full, it is time to dispose of the container. Overfilling a sharps disposal container increases the risk of accidental needle-stick injury.

Last evening I took a damage report from a gentleman and he reported two of his neighbors had also water in their basements.
I can't begin to tell you how IMPORTANT it is that all damages are reported. If Union County is declared federally as a disaster, these folks would all be eligible for some reimbursements.

If you or anyone you know had damages, please, please have them call or email or message this office!

Factors That Influence Groundwater Movement

The movement of groundwater underneath us is influenced by several factors. Groundwater, which is water below Earth's surface, doesn't flow in quite the same way as it does on the surface, but it still gets around!

Zach Gunsolley Union Co Engineer asked if I would pass this along...
The wind-blown snow is keeping county road crews from gaining ground, and we will struggle to gain any ground today as the wind is expected to be strong until 8-9 pm tonight. Roads are sealing back shut as quickly as we can open them. Crews will be working until 5 tonight, and will start at 5 am tomorrow morning. If you live in the country and are in town now, and it is essential that you get to work or an appointment tomorrow, we suggest making other overnight arrangements to stay in town, as it is unknown on how long it will take us to get all roads opened back up.
