Southern Iowa Resources for Families, Inc. Southern Iowa Resources for Families provides services to children and adults with disabilities thro Chore services for senior citizens.

Services Provided:

Supported Community Living (SCL) provides one to twenty-four hours of support per day based on the individual’s needs. Assistance may include, but is not limited to: personal and home skills, community skills, personal needs, transportation, and treatment services. Consumer-Directed Attendant Care (CDAC) provides assistance to individuals with self-care tasks, which they would

typically do independently if they were otherwise able. Home-based Habilitation Services are individually tailored supports that assist with the acquisition, retention, or improvement in skills related to living in the community. These supports may include adaptive skill development, assistance with activities of daily living, community inclusion, transportation, adult educational supports, social supports and leisure skill development. Day Habilitation Services are services that assist or support the consumer in developing or maintaining life skills and community integration. Prevocational Habilitation services include teaching concepts such as compliance, attendance, task completion, problem solving, and safety. Services are not oriented to a specific job task, but instead are aimed at a generalized result. Supported Employment Habilitation services are intensive, ongoing supports that enable individuals to perform in a regular work setting. Basic individual respite means respite provided on a staff to consumer ratio of one to one or higher for individuals without specialized medical needs that would require care by a licensed nurse. Staff can do minor repairs around the house, lawn mowing, snow removal, deep cleaning or other projects, depending on the individual’s need. Prevocational Services are aimed at preparing an individual for employment, but are not job-task oriented. These services include teaching the consumer concepts such as following directions, attending to tasks, task completion, problem solving, and safety and mobility training. Supported Employment services are individualized services associated with obtaining and maintaining competitive paid employment in the least restrictive environment possible, provided to individuals who need intense and ongoing support to perform in a work setting.

Southern Iowa Resources for Families has job openings for Direct Support Professionals. Applicants would be responsible for providing services to individuals with disabilities. Starting pay is $12.50/hour. Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or a GED and be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Community Support Specialists in the Creston . The starting wage will be $12.00 an hour for qualified applicants. Shifts vary due to consumers’ needs.
Job Summary: Provides services to individuals with disabilities to achieve and maintain the highest level of independent living possible within the community.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical. Must have a personal vehicle, auto insurance ( SR22 Does not qualify), a valid driver’s license and must be willing to obtain a Chauffeurs license within in 30 days of employment.

Southern Iowa Resources for Families has job openings for part-time and full-time Direct Support Professionals in Creston and Mount Ayr and also Team Leaders in the Leon/Mount Ayr area. Individual would be responsible for providing services to individuals with disabilities to assist them with achieving and maintaining the highest level of independent living possible within their community. Starting wage will be $11.50 per hour for qualified DSP applicants. Applicant must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or a GED and be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test. Must have a reliable, personal vehicle, 100/300/100 auto insurance (SR22 does not qualify) and a valid driver's license and must be flexible and willing to work every other weekend and travel.
