During the August 10th City Council Meeting, Dr. Karen Brown with Crestview Creations Unlimited took time to recognize volunteers from this year's Crestview Juneteenth celebration. 👏

This was the fifth year that Juneteenth was celebrated in the City of Crestview, drawing almost 1,200 people to the event. During the council meeting on Monday night, Dr. Brown recognized Katelynn Stone, who stepped up to help gather sponsorships for the event, with a Certificate of Appreciation and a commendation coin.

Dr. Brown also thanked 16 members of the 7th Special Forces Group who volunteered during the Juneteenth event. Only three of those volunteers were able to attend Monday night's council meeting. Specialist Xavier Santiago, Sergeant Timothy Byrne and Staff Sergeant Perla Gallegos each received a Certificate of Appreciation and an "Excellent in Service" pin.
