FYI Only! Frederick Douglass!!

Frederick Douglass’s early years in the abolitionist movement were dominated by his mentor and friend, William Llyod Garrison. Already regarded as a national figure for the anti-slavery movement, Garrison and Arthur Tapar, a wealthy abolitionist, created the American Anti-Slavery Society in 1833. Douglass and Garrison travelled for years as orators and activist until Douglass began to split from Garrison's views over the Constitution as a pro-slavery document, whereas he believed it was anti-slavery. Garrison’s views and its adherents, called "Garrisonians", dominated the national debates for years.

Gradually, Douglass distanced himself from the Society and Garrison, who agitated for grassroots, nonviolent approach that excluded cooperation with the U.S. Government. Douglass believed reform and political action was necessary, leading to his split from Garrison that strained their friendship. Douglass worked alongside other political reformers and activist in the Liberty Party and would call for more political engagement in his newspaper "The Frederick Douglass Papers".

08-07-26- Sappington at Old Sappington – Traffic arrest- An officer stopped a vehicle for expired license plates. It was discovered the driver had no operator’s license. The driver was arrested and the vehicle towed from the scene.

08-07-26- Watson at Grant- Vehicle crash- An officer responded to Watson at Grant for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation at the scene determined one of the parties involved in the crash was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and transported to the station for booking.

In addition to other calls for service and traffic enforcement, officers handled:
7 Residential/business alarms
5 Check the welfare
7 Suspicious incidents/persons
7 Vehicle crashes
17 Fire/EMS calls
11 Parking violations
1 Roadway hazards
1 Animal incident
2 Assist other agency
2 Vehicle lock outs
