This weekend, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Every year, our members placed fireman flags at the grave sites of all former CVFD members to remember and honor their sacrifice they gave to the Crete community.

Their courage and service will never be forgotten. From all of us at Crete Volunteer Fire & Rescue, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend! 🇺🇸🚒🚑

This past Sunday, we attended the annual Cinco de Mayo event at City Park! Ladder 51 and Squad 13 were at the event. There, we helped hang the piñatas using the aerial! Thank you for stopping by our booth and chatting with us!

Yesterday, Crete Fire & Rescue took part in the Crete Library’s “Touch-A-Truck” event! 🚒

This interactive event promoted play-based learning and gave kids the opportunity to see, explore, and climb on large vehicles! Thank you for stopping by and exploring Engine 31 with us!

Vehicle stabilization is essential before performing any rescue efforts! 🚒🚑

Stabilizing wrecked vehicles prevents unwanted movement of crashed vehicles, ensuring the safety of rescuers and patients.

During our recent training, our members learned the fundamentals of vehicle stabilization and got hands-on practice using specialized equipment to stabilize vehicles, such as rescue struts, cribbing, and our new airbags!

A dangerous combination of dry conditions and strong winds will occur this afternoon and evening resulting in extreme fire danger. Any fires that start will grow rapidly and be difficult to control. Use caution to avoid starting any fires.

This past Saturday, we held our annual Dinner Dance banquet! Our night consisted of dinner, awards, and music bingo. We want to recognize our members for their continuous dedication to the Crete community and their accomplishments in 2025.
