NOTE: Normally, we are out on Saturday as well, but the weather forecast looks nasty therefore, we will not be out at Walmart tomorrow anyone wishing to make a donation can drop them off at the police department, or can donate via Venmo at the link of the comments.

Thanksgiving has passed and Black Friday is here. You know what that means! The Crete Fraternal Order of Police - Lodge #74 is at it again, collecting toys for area children at the Crete Walmart! We will be there on Friday and Saturday afternoons from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.

Can’t make it to Walmart today or tomorrow? No problem! Make a donation via Venmo and we will do the shopping for you!

Last year, we were able to help 600 children in 168 families. Let’s make this year even better!

It is with great sadness that Crete Fire & Rescue reports the passing of member Terry Petracek who was just honored for his 50 years of service this last month. Terry fought lung cancer in his final months on the department and was a very well respected member of the community. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

With the number of people out shopping being lower than normal this year, we were concerned that we wouldn’t be able to serve as many families this year. Though the actual toy donations were down, the cash donations were up. Yesterday, Officers Jonas, Arbuckle and Reed went shopping to make up for the shortfall and added to this year’s stockpile of good will. Great work, guys!!
