There is no soft way to say this, so we are going to say it plainly. Syracuse Rescue Squad does not have enough volunteers, and if that does not change soon, this squad may not be able to keep running. Our community is at real risk of losing its own rescue service.
We want you to understand what that would actually mean. When someone here has a heart attack, a bad fall, or a serious car accident, the help that comes could be arriving from much farther away, and those extra minutes are the ones that matter most. The people who have kept this service alive have given all they can, and there are simply not enough of them left to carry it much longer.
This does not have to be how the story ends, and that part is up to all of us. We have made the first step as simple as it can be, with a short application that takes only a few minutes. You do not need medical experience and you do not need to have it all figured out. If you are willing to show up for your neighbors, we will train you from the ground up and stand beside you the entire way.
If you have ever thought about doing something that genuinely matters for this town, this is the moment to act on it. We need you, and we are not too proud to say so.
