Newest outlooks are in our favor to avoid the severe stuff, but we are not out of the woods completely. As of right now, the earlier rain that moved through our area is keeping the most severe stuff tracking to our south. The main line of thunder storms will be reaching the area in the late evening to overnight hours, where we still have a 3/5 chance of getting severe weather.

Remember, in the event severe weather does impact the area, seek shelter in a sturdy building, on the lowest floor away from windows and doors. Preferably in a basement or interior room. Keep your phones charged and emergency supplies ready.

There is a severe thunderstorm watch till 11 pm tonight for counties to our north and west.

Tomorrow we have a chance of severe weather. The Storm outlook has our area in an Enhanced risk area, whereas the western portions our county are in a Moderate risk area. Strong to severe storms are possible up to and including high winds, large hail, and the possibilities of tornados. Timing for tomorrow's weather events are slated in the evening hours.

Have ways to get weather alerts and be aware of rapidly changing weather. A NOAA weather radio is the best way to receive alerts.

Join Us for the 5th Annual Emily Miller Food Drive

đź“… June 27, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Please join us as we honor the memory of Emily Miller by supporting local families in need through our 5th Annual Food Drive.

Emily passed away on December 1, 2021, but her spirit continues to live on in our community. As the daughter of Chief Miller, Emily grew up in the firehouse and was known by many. She never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone she met. Her kindness, outgoing personality, and caring heart left a lasting impact on everyone around her.

This post is being shared by the members of the Cridersville Fire Department in honor of Chief Miller’s daughter, Emily. Many of us had the privilege of watching her grow up around the station!

We invite you to help us continue her legacy by donating non-perishable food items that will be distributed to local food pantries. Every donation helps make a difference and serves as a wonderful tribute to Emily’s generous spirit.

Emily is deeply missed, but through this food drive, her memory continues to help others.

❤️ Please join us on June 27th and help us honor Emily’s life by giving back to our community

Christmas came early at the Cridersville Fire Department!

And the best part? It was all made possible through a grant.

We are excited to announce the arrival of over 56 sections of new fire hose for our department. This purchase included both 3-inch and 5-inch supply hose, the large yellow hose you often see running from the fire hydrant to the fire truck during fire operations.

Our 5-inch hose serves as a primary water supply line, while the 3-inch hose can be used as either a supply line or a large attack line, giving our firefighters greater flexibility on emergency scenes.

Without this grant funding, this much-needed upgrade would have cost our department more than $50,000. These new hoses will help us improve reliability, increase efficiency on the fireground, and continue providing the highest level of service to our community.

We are incredibly grateful for the grant funding that made this purchase possible and for the support that helps keep our firefighters equipped with the tools they need to protect Cridersville and our surrounding communities.

đźš’ Better equipment. Better service. Better protection for our community. đźš’
