Last night the Nicloet Fire District had our monthly training. In rural areas like ours that do not have fire hydrants it is important to be efficient in drafting water from the nearest water source such as lakes and rivers. Last night we trained on exactly that, drafting water from a lake with one engine and relaying the water to another engine. There was a great turnout, Riverview FD, Townsend FD, Crooked Lake FD, Lakewood FD, Mountain FD and Doty FD all participated.

The annual Crooked Lake FD parade is coming up soon, it will be special as we will be celebrating our country's 250th birthday. This year the parade is Saturday July 4th, the parade starts at 10:30am. If you participated in the parade in the past, all you need to do is show up at R&D's Retreat between 9:30 and 10:15 and someone will line you up. If you are new to the parade or have any questions you can call Steve at(920)619-6259, please leave a message. Cty W can only be closed for a limited time so we ask that no one is walking so we keep things moving along. As always, we need to keep it family friendly, please keep political signs or any offensive material out of the parade. The CLFD would to thank R&D's Retreat for the use of their parking lot. Don't forget to stop by to support the Crooked Lake Sportsman's club after the parade. Thank you to everyone who makes this a success every year!

Last night we celebrated Brandy Draheim. Brandy recently completed the state certified FF1 course. Ladders,hose advancement, search and rescue and fire suppression, anyone who has completed this course knows how challenging it can be. The CLFD would like to congratulate Brandy on this huge accomplishment. Thank you Brandy for all the sacrifices and hard work you put in to serve the Crooked Lake and surrounding communities. Brandy deserves a big 'ol pat on the back if you see her.

Another successful auction in the books. The CLFD would like to thank everyone that helped us to make it a success. With your support we are able to maintain and upgrade our equipment. Like we've said before, it is truly an honor to serve this community. Thank you and stay safe!

We still need your stuff! The CLVFD auction is this coming Sunday, May 24th starting at 11 am. We will be at the firehouse this Saturday from 9am to 12pm to collect any treasures you want to drop off. We will also be taking in items Sunday the day of the auction, we are there pretty early on Sunday. While you're there, check out all the life saving equipment that your support has helped us to purchase. We cannot thank this community enough.
