Our extrication training went very well today. We have a long list of people we would like to thank. First and foremost our own Captain Andrew Anderson put a ton of work into planning this event, coordinating vendors, coordinating vehicles, planning scenarios and spending all day on Friday with his wife setting up with countless other members and their families. None of this would have been possible without vehicles and for that we Thank Shea, Shea’s family and Franky from 180 Auto who delivered a bus and 15 passenger vehicles as well as all the equipment you brought to move, flip and place vehicles for our scenarios. They all spent the better part of 2 days helping set up and tear down our training site and many more hours, time and fuel hauling vehicles to and from our department. Thank you Nick from UP Truck Center who also brought a bus, rotator and expertise placing our busses with his rotator. Thank you to Rob from Wenzel Service and Salt of the Earth Ranch for his skid steer and assistance with moving vehicles. All of the drinking water was donated by Witt’s Piggly Wiggly from Crivitz. Coolers were borrowed from Amberg Park and Rec and ice for coolers was don ofated by Ranger City Riders. Thanks to Crivitz FD for borrowing us picnic tables, cones, barricades and for delivering and helping set all that up. Thank you to the vendors: Macqueen, Jefferson Fire and Safety, Air One Equipment Inc and TNT Rescue Products for bringing equipment and all your extrication expertise. Thank you to Brew City Fools for helping instruct. Special Thank you to Sean and his mom Julie for contacting us to donate one of Sean’s old wheelchairs for use in today’s bus scenario. We will continue to use the chair in future trainings to help us improve response to wheelchair bound individuals. Sean even got a chance to try cutting on a vehicle today and we hope to include him in future trainings. Thank you to the food vendors Los Maygueyes and Ti Shep’s that provided very tasty food. Thank you to the Middle Inlet town board for rescheduling the recycling weekend so we could use the entire property. Last but certainly not least we would like to Thank all the firefighters and EMS agencies that attended and participated on a hot smokey Saturday. We had well over 50 that participated and many more that came to observe. We hope everyone learned something new to take back to their departments.
