⚠️ PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT ⚠️

Localized heavy rainfall is causing flooding on several roadways throughout the area. Some streets may be impassable, and water levels can rise quickly with little warning.

For your safety:

* Stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary.
* Do not drive through flooded roadways.
* Turn around, don’t drown.
* Use extreme caution if you must be on the roads.
* Monitor local weather and emergency updates.

Emergency personnel are monitoring conditions and responding as needed. Please help keep yourself and first responders safe by avoiding unnecessary travel until conditions improve.

A second round of rain is expected to move into the area. With the significant rainfall we have already received, additional flooding is likely and conditions may deteriorate rapidly.

Today we got to spend some time at the Crockett Early Childhood talking to them about fire safety and showing them the fire truck! 🚒. One of these youth will be the future of firefighting!! 🔥🚒🚨👩🏻‍🚒👨🏽‍🚒

Crockett Fire responded to a fully involved structure fire before 11 pm last night with crews from Belott, Latexo and Lovelady VFD's assisting. Thanks to Crockett PD, Houston County Sheriff Dept, Houston County Fire Marshal, and Houston County EMS who were also on scene all night assisting. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation. No reported injuries at the time of this press release.

This fire is contained and will likely continue to burn for a few days. CFD will continue to monitor the area and work with property ownership to ensure it remains contained.

UPDATE: As of approximately 3:30 am FM 230 is open to thru traffic.

FM 230 is currently closed in downtown Weldon due to a major gas line hit. Residents have been evacuated.
Traffic is being diverted around by either CR 3565 to CR 3595 to 3570, or CR 3500 around to CR 3595.

Crews are enroute to repair it and it will be several hours before the roadway is reopened.
Please plan accordingly and find an alternate route.
