Crooked River Ranch consists of 10,000 acres of rural residential, recreational, and commercial properties with over 5,000 permanent residents. In 1977, the property owners of Crooked River Ranch formed the Crooked River Ranch Rural Fire Protection District (CRRRFPD) which was staffed entirely by volunteers. Today, we are a full-service department staffed with career and volunteer firefighters who

are highly-trained in fire suppression, rope rescue, and emergency medical services. In addition to emergency response services, we also provide education and prevention services to our community.

Meet Morgan!

Morgan is 20 years old and is from West Linn, Oregon. He is a second-year student with Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue and is in his third year of the Fire Science program at COCC.

After completing the program, he hopes to become a Firefighter/EMT in the Portland metropolitan area.

Morgan's favorite part about being at CRRFR is the family atmosphere, the training opportunities, and the privilege to help people when they most need it, while also gaining valuable hands-on experience and serving the community.

We're proud to have Morgan on the CRRFR team!

Monday Night Drill | Search & Rescue

Our crews regularly use Monday night drills to work through different training scenarios and strengthen the skills needed during emergency responses.

This drill focused on search and rescue, allowing firefighters to practice search techniques, communication, teamwork, and decision-making in a controlled environment.

Regular training helps our crews maintain their skills and stay prepared for a variety of emergency situations.

In collaboration with Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue, Over the Edge Taphouse and the Crooked River Ranch Homeowners Association, the residents of Crooked River Ranch came together and donated items for the victims of the Spokane Fires.

All donations were dropped off at the Spokane Emergency Disaster Donation Center this past weekend by Dana Schulke, Administrative Assistant at Crooked River Ranch Fire and Denise Matylinski of Crooked River Realty.

A heartfelt thank you to the residents of our community for standing with Spokane during this difficult time in their lives.

Meet Keagen!

Keagen is 20 years old and is from Clackamas, Oregon. He has been in the fire service for three years and is currently part of the student firefighter program at Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue while also working part-time at Cloverdale Fire.

One of Keagen's favorite things about CRRFR is the opportunity to gain experience on a variety of apparatus and calls.

"We have so many different types of rigs that we get to staff, so we gain experience from different angles, especially on the medical side. As a student, it's great to be able to transport patients and continue building your knowledge."

This fall, Keagen will begin paramedic school at PERCOM out of Texas. After earning his paramedic certification, he hopes to build a career as a firefighter/paramedic here in Oregon.

Last week, we had Northwest Fire Agencies (Sisters, Black Butte Ranch & Cloverdale) out at Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue training on our training tower!

Our training tower was made possible through grants from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST), along with generous donations from our community. It has been an incredible resource for providing our firefighters with hands-on training and helping keep our crews prepared for the calls they respond to.

The tower is also available for local fire agencies to use for their own training. Agencies can schedule a day and time to utilize the facility and train!
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this resource possible. Your support directly helps us train, prepare, and better serve our community.
