Crooked River Ranch consists of 10,000 acres of rural residential, recreational, and commercial properties with over 5,000 permanent residents. In 1977, the property owners of Crooked River Ranch formed the Crooked River Ranch Rural Fire Protection District (CRRRFPD) which was staffed entirely by volunteers. Today, we are a full-service department staffed with career and volunteer firefighters who

are highly-trained in fire suppression, rope rescue, and emergency medical services. In addition to emergency response services, we also provide education and prevention services to our community.

As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue encourages our community to celebrate safely while taking time to honor the service members who have given their lives in service to our country.

Please help keep our community safe by remembering these key tips throughout the holiday weekend:
• Be mindful with outdoor cooking.
• Wear a life jacket in and around water.
• Plan ahead for traffic and drive responsibly.
• Fully extinguish campfires and dispose of ci******es properly.
• Stay hydrated and protect yourself during warmer temperatures.

Join us on Saturday, April 25th, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to meet your local firefighters and learn about defensible space, home hardening, and evacuation planning. We will have several agencies joining us including the Crooked River Ranch Firewise group, Jefferson County Emergency Manager from the Sheriff's Office, Fire Risk Reduction Specialist from the Oregon State Fire Marshal, Oregon Department of Forestry, and the Crooked River National Grassland. Free popcorn and family-friendly event!

Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue will be closing all outdoor debris burning effective at midnight, May 1st, 2026.

Until the closure burning will be allowed, weather permitting, on a day-to-day basis. Call the Burn Information Line at 541-923-4633 to ensure burning is allowed on the day you wish to burn.
