URGENT COMMUNITY MESSAGE: Standing Together in Uncertain Times
Around the world, and right here in our own neighborhoods, families are facing the devastating possibility of SNAP benefits being reduced or canceled. For thousands of households, this support has been the last safety net keeping food on the table. The thought of losing it has created deep fear and uncertainty among those already struggling with food insecurity.
At The New Hope Food Shelf, we see these struggles firsthand. We serve our own community and seven surrounding ones, each filled with neighbors doing their best to make ends meet. Many of them are the most vulnerable, children, seniors, single parents, veterans, and those living without stable housing. They are turning to us not out of choice, but out of necessity.
And now, as we enter the holiday season and an uncertain future, the weight of this need grows heavier by the day.
But food shelves alone are not enough. That’s why keeping our Soup Kitchen open 7 days a week is absolutely essential. For many, it is the only warm, nutritious meal they’ll have that day, a hot bowl of soup, a comforting plate, and a reminder that they are not forgotten. It’s more than food, it’s dignity, warmth, and community.
Together, the Food Shelf and Soup Kitchen are lifelines, two hands of compassion reaching out to those in crisis. But to keep them open, we need your help.
Now more than ever, we need our community to come together to keep the shelves stocked and the kitchen open.
It costs roughly $200–$250 a week to feed a family of four, and even $10 can provide a hot meal and hope to one guest in our soup kitchen.
This is a time for compassion, for action, and for unity. Our shelves are the heart of the community, and our kitchen is its soul, and both must stay open if we are to weather what’s ahead together.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your continued support. Every donation, every meal served, every hand that reaches out, it all matters.
Together, we can face this uncertainty with hope, resilience, and love. ❤️
