Today August 10 is World Lion Day 🦁

While this is the international day to appreciate the majestic big cats and support efforts to protect them and their habitat, it could also be a day we appreciate our brothers and sisters in service who are Lions Clubs International

In many areas there are both Lions Clubs and Rotary Clubs working hard to serve their communities. While each has different programs, projects and focuses, the common factor is working together in fellowship to deliver community and international service.

When times are tough Lions and Rotary can often be seen working together to help communities in need.

For many Rotarians and Lions the initial choice of service club may have come down to first contact with a service club, family history in service or accessibility to meetings in their area.

So while we are fiercely proud of Rotary and our clubs, we should take a minute to appreciate (especially on World Lion Day) the great work and service Lions do in our communities too.
