The Crookston Ambassador Team was in for a true delight, surprise, and something beyond their expectations. The curiosity drew them into a mixture of serenity, style, chique, and the utmost class.

New visions transformed into a wide array of renovations including a fully equipped kitchen with capacity for meal prep, a cozy gas fireplace, carefully furnished gathering areas throughout the1200 sq foot rental that’s tastefully decorated with unique art pieces, an oversized sofa and other inimitable furnishings, and a floor to ceiling categorized bookshelf. The outdoor amenities include a spacious deck equipped with a grill and riverside views.

Owner Iverson looks forward to hosting temporary medical or patient care staff, university faculty, or overflow of family members for example for longer stays. He expects the property to be ready for vacancy by mid-June. It’s safe to say that there’s no other hospitality that reaches the level of calm, elegance, and tranquility all in one space. How fortunate are we to have this available right here in downtown Crookston. For more information, contact Kevin Iverson at (503) 830-7114 or [email protected]. The property is located at 121 North Main Street above Sistas Corner, previously The Crookston VFW.

Here to celebrate Kevin are:
Front row: Alicia Berhow (Tri-Valley Opportunity Council), Lydia Hoffman (AgCountry Farm Credit Services), Andrea Ness (LeBlanc Realty).
Back row: Amy Magsam (Altru Clinic), Kacie Forness (First Community Credit Union), Lindsey Erdman (Benedictine Living Community Crookston), Lisa Meyer (The Title Team), Iverson, Kristy Morris Leas (Old National Bank), Keenan Devier (City of Crookston), Bobbie Torkelson (H&R Block), Randy Schoenborn (RiverView Health), and Carrie Bergquist (American Crystal Sugar-EGF) not pictured.

The Crookston Ambassador Team horsed around to honor and congratulate Ashley Peterson, owner of ASH Performance Horses.

Straight out of the gate, a flood of memories came to mind as the ambassador team walked through the doors of what was known as the old Winter Shows building. Donkey basketball, 4-H ice cream sandwiches, hundreds of booths of surroundings businesses, and machinery as long as the eye could see. And to come to realize the building that housed all those memories was going to stay standing is a huge relief. ASH Performance has already made many years of new memories and is gearing up for many more.

Raise your hand if you know that Crookston has a horse hotel. Although some hotels are pet friendly, ASH Performance truly is 2000-pound pet friendly. Stalls and pens are prepaid. Lights, water, and wheelbarrows are provided; maids are not. There are 30 vacancies in this space.

Ashley continued the tour where 30 more heated stalls were filled with the horses that had her attention and heart each day. This is where the magic happens. These are the horses that come here to learn and to work. On average, a horse stays here 90 days to train. If they are here to learn a certain discipline or trade, their stay will be more in the realm of a year or so. Ashley shares that some horses get shipped to her as far as Georgia and train to become high-end show horses. She works day in and day out to prepare them both mentally and physically to have a successful future. Ashley consults with the owner, determines a tailored program specific to them, and attends closely to that plan. Ashley shares that Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of Yellowstone, has done a lot for this industry. “With 30 years of experience starting c**ts, this stage of a horse’s journey is truly my passion. Those first 60-90 days lay the foundation for everything that follows, and we’re committed to setting your young horse up for long-term success. Our program focuses on softness, confidence, and developing a thinking horse that can process, retain, and apply what it learns, creating a willing partner for a long, happy career,” adds Ashley.

Current events consist of barrel races, open rides, various clinics, cowboy mounted shootings, and auctions. Services include c**t starting, clinic and coaching, showing, sales and marketing.

Contact Ashley Peterson at 701-720-6660 or [email protected]. You’ll also find Ashley and her services on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Prepare to be amazed by the prestigious gem we have right here in Crookston.

Here to congratulate and celebrate Ashley are Taylor Wyum (Crookston Economic Development Authority), Tracy Kuchan (LeBlanc Realty), Lydia Hoffman (AgCountry Farm Credit Services), Bobbie Torkelson (H&R Block), Keenan Devier (City of Crookston), and Carrie Bergquist not pictured.

The Crookston Ambassador Team ventured over to the north side of town to meet, congratulate, and recognize The Title Team and their recent move to 2015 Sahlstrom Drive, Suite 5, across from Walmart. The Crookston team consists of Aaron Rosten, regional manager, Lisa Meyer, manager, Ashley Clark, and Jessica Christensen.

The team started off with a bit of history dating back to 1886 when the first office was established in Crookston, known then as Christianson and Strander. In 1969, Strander Abstract & Title came to fruition and delivered title service, closing services, and 1031 exchange assistance. North Dakota Guaranty & Title Co. (now known as The Title Team) acquired Grand Forks Abstract & Title Company in 2015 also including operations in Thief River Falls and Crookston allowing a larger service area in the Red River Valley. The Crookston office was the first of the expansion, and to date hold more offices in Minnesota than North Dakota.

The recent move from 210 N Broadway has been a vision for the past 10 years. After careful consideration, they found their new home that aligns with the needs of their organization and exceeds the growing demands of Crookston and the region.

Although there have been several name changes in the past 140 years, the team continues the same top notch customer package loaded with commercial and residential full-service title and escrow properties. They work diligently with the financial institutions, realtors, and attorneys to deliver a smooth transition no matter the complexity of the transaction. On average, they accurately complete three hundred closings a month between the Crookston, Grand Forks, and Thief River Falls offices. They are your trusted hometown title team. More information can be found on their website Home | The Title Team.

Pictured here are:
Back row: Randy Schoenborn (RiverView Health), Lindsey Erdman (Benedictine Living Community in Crookston), Keenan Devier (City of Crookston), Aaron Rosten (The Title Team), Kristy Morris Leas (Old National Bank).

Front row: Alicia Berhow (Tri-Valley Opportunity Council), Lydia Hoffman (AgCountry Farm Credit Services), Jessica Christensen (The Title Team), Lisa Meyer (The Title Team), Ashley Clark (The Title Team), Andrea Ness (LeBlanc Realty), Bobbie Torkelson (H&R Block).

The Crookston Ambassador Team convoyed to Burnham Creek Healing for what became one extremely relaxing visit.

It’s a menu of rejuvenation, really. Sarah, as a teenager, got into the thick of yoga when her mom lifted off with Burnham Creek Healing in 2014. Several years later, Sarah followed in her mom’s footsteps, and continued the family business, and gave it a twist of her own, Sarah-Style.

Sarah has clients of all ages, even reaching 75 years of age. Her group classes are offered all year long, twice a week. and she plans to add more classes. With summer around the corner, she’s looking forward to classes outside by the creek where one can truly find themselves with the elements of the earth.

Sarah goes on to explain that yoga isn’t just for individuals; it is a tool for connection across all ages. After furthering her education to become certified in children’s yoga, she has expanded her offerings to include family yoga sessions, designed to help parents and children find balance together. In addition to these family-focused classes, she offers private couple or group sessions. Dedicated to her community, Sarah has partnered with Scruffy Tails and is looking forward to partnering with Smiley’s Rescues and Linus Legacy to host yoga events with their rescue animals, with all proceeds going directly back to those two organizations.

Sarah doesn’t stop at yoga; she also offers Reiki energy sessions that are a whole hour of heaven on earth. She uses traditional Japanese methods of Reiki relaxation to promote healing along with crystals and pairs with essential oils for a calming scent, which allows you to just unwind and enjoy the vibe.

Some clients can be a little scared or nervous not knowing what to expect, especially if it’s their first time. Sarah’s favorite part of the whole business is seeing that new client leaving so revitalized and reset.

Looking ahead, Sarah is offering Soung Yoga on April 6th, Calming Spring Hatha Yoga Starts April 13th, and for a more energetic class spring power, Vinyasa starts May 2nd. These are 8-class sessions, or you can drop in for a one-time visit! For more information visit Sarah’s website listed below. Sarah’s artistic work can also be enjoyed at the Fournet building until April 10th during regular business hours on the second floor.

Appointments can be made by calling 218-280-0588, emailing [email protected], or booking right online, which is preferred at https://burnham-creek-healing.square.site/.
Here to congratulate and celebrate Sarah are Kristy Morris Leas (Old National Bank), Taylor Wyum (Crookston Economic Development Authority), Lydia Hoffman (AgCountry Farm Credit Services), Pester, Keenan Devier (City of Crookston), Andrea Ness (LeBlanc Realty), Bobbie Torkelson (H&R Block), and Carrie Bergquist (America Federal Bank), not pictured.

The Crookston Area Chamber Ambassadors stopped by Metal Masters last week, one of Crookston’s finest hidden gems. First Impressions were miraculous for an engine and metal shop or any shop for that matter. It was spotless, the tools were neatly in line, the floors were clean, the machines were orderly, and the environment was inviting.

Cameron Seaworth met the Crookston Ambassador Team with a warm welcome into his shop, The Metal Masters. Cameron is originally from Dorothy. He was born into a very mechanically inclined family. His close relatives were mechanics, machinists, auto repair, and farmers, and every other trade under the sun.

Cameron has been the owner/operator of Metal Masters since 2024. Dale Larson, the previous owner, had been there for the past thirty years and has been a tremendous resource for Cameron. He has learned to machine every part of an engine,” by the time an engine gets to me, it’s usual not in good shape. I can re-machine almost every piece of an engine. From the smallest Briggs & Stratton to the largest Cummins. I can also custom make some hard-to-find parts, which most automotive shops can’t do. I can fix almost anything, if you want to put the money into it. Right now, I am working on a John Deere 13.5L for a combine. The hardest part of my job is the ridiculous amounts of paperwork. The best part, getting to meet, and help, all the cousins I knew about, but never got to meet before,” shares Cameron.

Cameron helped start a mechanic shop in East Grand Forks, which is still going strong. Metal Masters shop hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
For more information call (218) 281-1253.

Pictured here to congratulate and celebrate Cameron are Carrie Bergquist (America Federal Bank), Michelle Christopherson (University of Minnesota Crookston), Tracy Kuchan (LeBlanc Realty), and Kristy Morris Leas (Old National Bank).

The Crookston Ambassador Team recently met to celebrate and congratulate Stella Duden, owner of Pretty N’ Polished.

Stella took us back to when she attended The Salon Professional Academy in Fargo with a focus on hair. The program was nearly one year long, and with only a couple of months until graduation, she decided to try doing nails on some of her friends. It quickly became clear that this is where her heart belonged, nail technology.

Soon after graduation, Stella started her first job as a nail tech at The Small Town Salon in Fisher, Minnesota, in October of 2024. She quickly built a solid client base, and they drove miles for Stella’s talent. Stella then found an opportunity to create and start her own business, which opened in Crookston starting in June 2025. You can find Stella in the same building as Carrie Larson, owner of Hair Connexion, at 310 South Broadway. Her transition to salon owner proved to be a success for Stella. Many of her clients followed her, and her new client base grew wildly.

Stella’s more popular services are a basic gel manicure, acrylic, builder gel, and Gel-X. Appointments typically take approximately an hour and a half, but when she adds in her most extreme talent of design and nail art, expect longer appointments.
Hours: Monday - Closed, Tuesday 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., Wednesday 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Here to congratulate and celebrate Stella are Tracy Kuchan (LeBlanc Realty), Kristy Morris Leas, (Old National Bank), Bishop Jenson (The Jewler), Michelle Christopherson (University of Minnesota Crookston), and Carrie Bergquist (America Federal Bank) not pictured.

The Crookston Ambassador Team ventured over to Synergy Nutrition Hub to meet and congratulate one of the ambitious new owners, Deano, and teammate Isabell. As Isabell was mixing up various popular flavors of shakes and teas for the whole Ambassador Team, Deano was sharing a wealth of information of what makes the products so successful from weight loss to GI and diabetic support to immune boosters, protein requirements, fiber desires, and hydration and electrolyte needs.

They offer a variety of dreamsicle teas, protein snacks, teas loaded with 160 milligrams of caffeine plus 15 grams of protein, kid friendly teas, diabetic-friendly teas, power teas, and a limited protein-based coffee menu; small enough not to compete with coffee powerhouse businesses. Their specialty is the Lit Tea, which is a zero sugar, no calorie, 24-ounce 160 milligram drink, which comes in a variety of 12 flavors. Drinks can be called in ahead of time, or you can simply download the “Engage App” with code: A7A6SY. Deano and his stellar staff have most drink orders ready within about 2 minutes or less. Go-kits have become quite popular where consumers can simply take the product with them and make it when it’s convenient for them. Protein balls (6 grams) are made in-house and often run out within hours. Gift cards are available as well.

Deano emphasized the staff being local students who can really relate and connect with the consumers. Isabelle is a student at CHS and takes classes at the university as well. Speaking of schools, Synergy Nutrition Hub takes great pride in offering unique fundraising options for schools where your group can take advantage of 50% of the proceeds. It’s quite easy. The campaign takes two weeks’ time, orders are delivered within 10 days of the payments, and orders come sorted by the customer. Tracy Handt, Deano’s wife, is the expert on this piece and would love to get your fundraiser started. Simply call her at 701-306-5092. Not only is this a great fundraiser for schools, consider academic groups, dance teams, and church groups.

Deano and his team took over Synergy Nutrition Hub on December 8th of 2025. Business hours are weekdays 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The team is considering hours on Sundays, stay tuned. Synergy Nutrition is located at 116 W. Robert Street in Downtown Crookston. For questions, call 701-306-5092, or email at [email protected]. Watch for upcoming events on Facebook. The Crookston location is one of three other locations that he owns and operates. Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls are the other two locations of the like.

Here to congratulate and celebrate Dano and his team are:
Keenan Devier (City of Crookston), Taylor Wyum (Economic Development Authority), Kristy Morris Leas (Old National Bank), Alicia Berhow (Tri-Valley Opportunity Council), Isabell, Deano, Lydia Hoffman (AgCountry Farm Credit Services), Lindsey Erdman (Benedictine Living Community in Crookston), Kacie Forness (First Community Credit Union), Carrie Bergquist (America Federal Bank), and Randy Schoenborn (RiverView Health).

The Crookston Ambassador Team had another visit this week which was a little extra special as they got to celebrate one of their very own teammates, Bobbie Torkelson, and the team at H&R Block.

The team at H&R Block have officially moved into their new space at 2015 Sahlstrom Drive, across the street from Walmart. Their address is the only major change. You can drop your forms and paperwork off or you can scan them right to the portal. They have clients from all over the U.S. Your sessions can be in person, via video chat, on the phone; whatever is easiest for you. H&R Block does not cease at tax preparing, they also specialize in payroll, notary, and bookkeeping services all year round. What will they come up with next?

The Crookston Ambassador Team regrouped this week to honor and celebrate vibrant business owners and are excited to share the highlights.

The first stop was at the prevailing Queen City Art Center to catch up with Jenn Walz, and how her flourishing business has been developing since opening in August of 2025.

Walz jumped right in to share the different classes that are occurring in her shop that include painting, pottery, shibori, and mosaic, which has been most popular. Customers can pick their own pottery, paint it, and then their masterpieces are sent off to be fired, and are ready to be picked up in 7-10 days. Walz talked through a major but exciting construction project. After the remodel is completed, the kilns will be moved back to the art center and will be fired right on site. The remodel will also allow opportunities to include a stage for open mic night, bridal showers and baby showers; the possibilities are endless.

Walz has a passion for bringing a variety of local and area artists to the community so has invested their talents into her shop. You can find several forms of art for sale even at hands as young as 13 years old. Artists can also find art supplies locally at the shop. Come summer, Walz also has plans for the green space outside, so be looking for those events.

Business hours Monday by appointment, Tuesday thru Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Sunday by appointment. Queen City Art Center is located at 124 S Broadway, in Downtown Crookston. For questions, call Walz at 218-470-2025, or email at [email protected]. Watch for upcoming events on Facebook.

Pictured here to congratulate and celebrate Walz are:

The Crookston Ambassadors stopped by to catch up with the current owners and operators of Crookston Paint, Glass & Flooring, Tracy and Chris Forseth. Immediately when you walk in the store, you get the hometown feel as the owners and staff greet you by your name or at least welcome you with a warm smile or handshake.

Tracy jumped right in to tell the story of how she and her husband started their venture. Tracy’s family have been long time family friends with the Oien family, dating back to Tracy’s mom and Kay Oien working together at the Mount Saint Benedict. Tracy has known since she was a little girl that this is the direction she was headed; to have a business of her own where she could thrive in her creative interior design and decorating.

Tracy not only has a background and degree in retail merchandising and management with a focus on interior decorating but has a passion that takes her well beyond any limits. Throw in the retail side of things, and she continues the success and gives the business a twist and new life. Tracy shares, her biggest seller is the flooring department, however other departments keep up. It’s quite possible to design or flip a home, one room at a time, with this one stop shop, including a plethora of mattresses, blinds, paint, glass cutting, carpet, flooring, and beyond. Tracy has a sharp eye to coordinate colors for rooms and plans to achieve a goal to bring in some home design to the long list of services they provide.

Beyond Tracy and Chris, is another lively and helpful team member, Jordan Lessard. Jordan is usually the first person you see when you enter the store, as she is in front working on miscellaneous tasks and is dedicated to helping customers find the perfect paint color or assisting them in looking for a certain type of flooring. She does a little of everything and if she isn’t sure on something she will find an answer for our customers.

They are located on the corner of South Main Street and West Robert Street, so right in the heart of Crookston. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon). You can find them on Facebook and Instagram.

Pictured here to congratulate and celebrate Crookston Paint, Glass & Flooring left to right are Bobbie Torkelson (H&R Block), Lessard, C Forseth, T Forseth, Lydia Stephens (Bremer Bank), and Tracy Kuchan (LeBlanc Realty).
