🚭 It’s time to clear the air about to***co and youth! 🚭

Did you know to***co use among young people is still a serious concern? Even with progress, many teens continue to experiment with smoking or va**ng, putting their health at risk.

World No To***co Day, observed every year on May 31, raises awareness about the dangers of to***co, the tactics used by the to***co industry, and what we can all do to protect future generations.

From addiction to long-term lung damage, the risks are real, but so is our ability to make a difference. Let’s empower youth with knowledge and support a to***co-free future. 💪

It’s more common than ever to see people across Minnesota enjoying off-highway vehicles (OHVs)! 🏞️

If you’re an experienced rider, remember — the next generation is watching. Model safe riding and always wear your helmet.

Lately, we’ve seen many youth riders, both passengers and operators, without helmets. It’s not only unsafe — it’s illegal. All riders under 18 must wear a DOT-approved helmet, no matter the size of their OHV.

Wearing a helmet isn’t just the law — it’s one of the best ways to make sure every ride ends safely.

A burning permit grants the individual holder the right to burn small amounts of dry leaves, plant clippings, brush, and clean untreated-unpainted wood if weather conditions do not pose a fire hazard.

An online burning permit is a convenient way to get your permit. You can activate it through your online account or by phone as often as needed (if conditions are safe to burn).

As we age, foot care can become challenging, and many community members are struggling in silence with overgrown toenails, corns, calluses, and dry cracked skin. Left untended, these issues can affect mobility, balance, increase foot pain, and lessen one's quality of life.

Polk County Public Health offers foot care to community members with a health condition or physical hindrance who are unable to provide adequate foot care for themselves. The clinics are staffed with trained nurses.

The cost of the clinics is $30 per visit; those unable to pay will not be denied services.
