Did you know that all of the proceeds from Sunny Seconds go directly to the programs and resources offered by NWDSS? That means that whether you donate items or you purchase items from our thrift shop, you are supporting the seniors in the communities we serve!

“ As you probably know, ticks have been very active this year! To help prevent the diseases they spread, today our tick and mosquito surveillance team placed three tick check stations:
📌Indian Lake Dog Park (entrance)
📌Pheasant Branch Conservancy (Branch Street entrance)
📌Warner Park (trail near the Rainbow shelter)

At these stations, you’ll find:
✅Info about ticks that spread disease and what they look like
✅Tweezers to remove ticks
✅A jar to put removed ticks into
✅A QR code to our survey—this helps us know what ticks you saw and how you interacted with our station

We plan to move stations around throughout the summer to better understand tick activity. Check our website to learn where tick stations are: publichealthmdc.com/ticks

🚗 Home delivered lunch meals are delivered Monday through Friday to homebound individuals ages 60+.

JUNE 5TH TO 7TH IS NATURE EVERYWHERE WEEKEND IN MADISON!
Pick up your Lake Wingra Nature Everywhere Challenge card to guide your nature explorations around Lake Wingra.
This event is presented in partnership with the UW Arboretum, Henry Vilas Zoo, Friends of Lake Wingra, and Nature Everywhere Madison Region.

Printed Bingo Cards and prizes will be available for pick up at the following times and locations:

Friday, June 5th
Arboretum Visitor Center, 9:30 am – 4 pm
Henry Vilas Zoo Guest Services, 10 am – 2 pm
Wingra Park, “First Friday” free music series, look for the Friends of Lake Wingra table, 5 pm – 8 pm

Saturday, June 6th
Arboretum Visitor Center, 12:30 pm – 4 pm
Henry Vilas Zoo Guest Services, 10 am – 2 pm

Sunday, June 7th
Arboretum Visitor Center, 12:30 pm – 4 pm
