April is Alcohol Awareness Month, and here in our community, that means taking care of one another.

We all know someone—a friend, a neighbor, a family member—who’s been affected by alcohol-related crashes. The truth is, it can happen closer to home than we think.

Before you head out, make a plan. Check on your people. Offer a ride. Those small choices can make a big difference.

Let’s continue to look out for each other and keep our roads—and our community—safe.

Nearly 80,000 (or about 76%) of the 105,007 drug overdose deaths in 2023 involved an opioid.3CDC data show a potential bystander was present in nearly 43% of overdose deaths in 2023.4 With the right tools, bystanders can act to prevent overdose deaths.
