🔥 LATE-NIGHT STRUCTURE FIRE RESPONSE 🔥

Late Saturday night, Vernon Township Fire Department, Redding Township Fire Department, Jackson-Washington Township Fire Department, and Hamilton Township Fire Department were dispatched to a reported fully engulfed barn fire.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a barn heavily involved in fire. Firefighters immediately began suppression operations while additional personnel and tankers worked to establish a water supply.

Units responding to the incident included:

🚒 Squad 2
🚒 Tanker 61
🚒 Tanker 62

🚒 Tanker 75

Crews from all four departments worked together to bring the fire under control.

US31 is closed at Three Bridges due to a vehicle accident.

Update: 9:42pm roadway is back open.

Jackson County Fire Instructors Complete Advanced Live Fire Training

Jackson County Fire Departments continue to invest in the future of firefighter training and public safety.

This month, several fire instructors from departments across Jackson County successfully completed a brand-new Live Fire Instructor program. The training was designed to enhance instructor knowledge, improve safety, and provide the skills necessary to deliver realistic, high-quality live fire training to firefighters throughout the county.

Completing this program required a significant commitment of time, effort, and dedication. These instructors devoted countless hours to developing their skills and expanding their knowledge so they can better prepare firefighters for the challenges they face on the fireground.

The commitment demonstrated by these instructors reflects the professionalism and passion that exists throughout Jackson County’s fire service. By continuing to train and grow as instructors, they are helping build stronger firefighters, safer operations, and better service to the communities we proudly protect.

Jackson County Fire Departments congratulate each instructor who completed this program and thank them for their dedication to advancing firefighter training. Their investment in education today will have a lasting impact on the safety and preparedness of our firefighters and the citizens we serve. During the last 24 hours Crothersville-Vernon Township Fire has responded to a working house fire, a large excavator fire and a vehicle fire. US31 will have delays North of Uniontown due to a vehicle fire.
