Reminder - a private fireworks display will take place tonight at approximately 9:15 PM.

In accordance with § 127-6 of the Village Code, public notice is hereby given that Hudson National Golf Club, 40 Arrowcrest Drive, Croton-on-Hudson, New York, has applied for a fireworks permit for a display to be held on September 5, 2026, at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Upon review of the application, and in consultation with the Chief of the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department, Chief of Police John H. Nikitopoulos has granted the permit for the display.

Village offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Please note that due to the Labor Day holiday, the sanitation schedule has been adjusted. The Monday and Tuesday collections will be combined and will take place on Tuesday, September 8. The rest of the week will follow the normal schedule.

As a reminder, summer office hours at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building will conclude on Friday, September 4. Starting Tuesday, September 8, all offices within the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, located at 1 Van Wyck Street, will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The Village Board of Trustees were pleased to honor two long-time Village employees who recently celebrated milestone anniversaries.

Water Foreman John Spatta recently celebrated 25 years of service with the Village. John is responsible for ensuring the public water system operates correctly and that our water is safe to drink.

Chief of Police John Nikitopoulos recently celebrated 40 years of service with the Village. Chief Nikitopoulos leads our 22-member police department and is our longest-tenured employee!

Congratulations and we look forward to your continued service to our Village.

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson celebrated the completion of phase 1 of the Farrington Steps reconstruction yesterday with a ribbon-cutting.

Following several months of work, we are excited to have the staircase reopened and ready for the community just in time for the start of the new school year.

Please be advised that the Department of Public Works will be undertaking sidewalk work on Old Post Road South between Maple Street and the entrance to the Merwin Oak Parking Lot tomorrow, September 2, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Please expect temporary sidewalk closures and parking restrictions while work is underway.

The Water Department will be making repairs on Grand Street in front of Holy Name of Mary Church tomorrow, September 2, between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Please expect temporary lane closures and parking restrictions during this time.
