At the Sept 14 Village Council Meeting, the Council has requested stricter enforcement of traffic laws on North and South Main Street due to the average speeds measured on this roadway. The repaving has resulted in vehicled travelling through the area at speeds that make it unsafe for residents to exit their driveway. This is also putting school children at risk as they walk or bike to the bus stop on South Park Street in front of the Village Library.

North High Street is now closed north of the organ factory (120 N High). This is due to the culvert under the road is collapsing. Many 18 wheeled farm tractor trailer trucks have been crossing this ancient culvert and the increased rain has taken its toll. When this overpass was inspected, the damage took us aback. We’ve been really lucky it has not collapsed in the past month. You can see that the west wall holding up the sidewalk is at a 30-40 degree angle. Barricades have been put up and the detour goes Lover’s Lane to Fairgrounds Rd to N Park Dr. Officers and deputies will be patrolling this area. On the positive side, the neighborhood children have been having a ball playing on what is now a dead-end street. Because this happened during a very short period, the bridge will need to be designed, engineered and built which is very lengthy due to the bid process we have to go through to get the best pricing for all phases. Thanks for your patience.

We have to thank our sponsor for the golf cart for the 2026 Hartford Fair - OGC in Sunbury. They provided our transport for our popsicle giveaway to the fair kids (and adults). Go see ZACK at OGC if you need to rent or buy a cart. He was very generous to us to make this possible.

We gave out over 180 popsicles at the Hartford Fair Sunday and Monday. Tuesday not so much. Loved seeing all the 4H kids and parents.

Hartford officers located the Ding D**g Dash suspects last night and they admitted to these incidents. Parents and grandparents were spoken to concerning the dangers of this activity, and hopefully it will cease. Thank you to the community for timely reporting this hooliganism which allowed us to adjust officer schedules.
