The Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital had the pleasure of hosting deployed commissioned officers, Capt. Alexandra Oster and CMDR Asha Choudhury, both Internal Medicine Physicians, for a period of 120 days. During their deployment, these officers provided direct patient care to our patients in the Outpatient Department and contributed to process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing patient access to care.

Tomorrow, both officers will return home to San Francisco and Atlanta. We sincerely appreciate the dedication, professionalism, and support they have provided to our community, staff, and patients at the Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital, as well as our outlying clinics in Lodge Grass and Pryor.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for all they have done to support our mission and wish them safe travels as they reunite with their families.

Sincerely,

Dylan R. Black Eagle

Chief Executive Officer

The Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital is currently undergoing interior renovations across several departments, including multiple first-floor restrooms. This project will be completed in four phases over the next year and a half.

We have officially begun Phase 1, which is expected to take approximately nine months to complete. This phase includes a full renovation of the Inpatient Ward. Every effort is being made to coordinate construction activities in a way that minimizes disruption to patient care and daily operations.

Throughout the facility, you will notice taped-off areas, posted signage indicating the current phase of construction, and maps outlining affected areas. These measures are in place to help ensure safety and clear communication during the renovation process.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the project, please feel free to reach out to a member of the Administration Department.

We are excited about these improvements and look forward to providing a more modern, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our patients and community.

Sincerely,

Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital Administration

The Indian Health Service is launching the largest hiring initiative in the history of the federal agency. This unprecedented hiring push represents a historic investment in rebuilding and strengthening the IHS workforce and reflects the urgency for recruiting, hiring, and retaining qualified professionals in critical positions throughout the agency.

“With a near 30 percent vacancy rate across the IHS, our top priority is filling vacancies for positions essential to keeping our health care facilities operating smoothly, especially in some of the more rural and remote locations,” said IHS Chief of Staff Clayton Fulton. “Our friends, families, and relatives need the best available health care providers who are focused on our shared goal of raising the health status of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level, and this hiring initiative will go far in helping us accomplish that goal. This is an exciting time to join the Indian Health Service.”

With the full support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Secretary Kennedy, the IHS worked diligently to complete a comprehensive workforce plan for this hiring effort.
