A friendly drainage reminder ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

Please avoid leaving balls, toys, trash, or other debris near ditches and culverts. These items can quickly block drainage during heavy rain and create bigger problems for everyone.

Letโ€™s all do our part to help keep water flowing

Working together to keep Acadia Parish roads safe and drainage flowing.

In Districts 5, Beau Petitjean and 6, Ed Guidry the Acadia Parish Road Department, Drainage Board, and local contractors continue coordinating efforts to improve roadway safety and address drainage concerns ahead of upcoming weather.

On North Riceland Road, crews recently added crushed asphalt along roadway edges to help stabilize the shoulders and improve safety for motorists. Additional work was also completed along the gravel portion of the road where crews assisted in cleaning out gullies and culverts to restore unrestricted water flow and improve drainage throughout the area.

These projects are another example of parish departments and local contractors working together to proactively address infrastructure and drainage needs across Acadia Parish.
