Lake County 911 Lake County 911 Consolidated Dispatch Center As is well known, the Consolidated dispatch is currently being planned, designed, and built.

This page is so that Dispatchers, Firefighters, Police, and EMS can connect and share news and information about the Lake County 911 Consolidated Dispatch Center. As it becomes possible, information about the Dispatch Center will be shared here so that all interested can stay informed. This is not intended as a sounding board for complaints or negative comments about the creation of the consolidated dispatch. It is intended as a place to network and share information with interested parties, especially the Telecommunications Operators and other Public Safety personnel. There is much work to be done, and this page is a way to share the progress. Negative/derogatory comments will be removed from the page, and the person posting the comments will likely be blocked.

As the 911 industry continues to evolve, we are embracing new tools and technology to help us better serve our community. Ava is designed to assist with our non-emergency calls ONLY, helping our call takers remain available for emergencies when every second counts and lives may be at stake. ❤️‍🩹

When you call our non-emergency line, please be patient with Ava and answer her questions as clearly as possible. Your information is being reviewed by a Lake County 911 telecommunicator and supervisor as you respond, helping ensure your call receives the attention it needs.

Heading to Wickedly Whiting this Saturday? Come find Lake County 911 at 119th & New York Ave. starting at 3:00 PM!

If you’re bringing the little ghosts and goblins along, stop by our table for a FREE child ID wristband! 🧡

Parents and guardians can write their name and phone number on the wristband before placing it on their child. If your little one happens to get separated from you while enjoying the festival, it gives someone a quick way to help reunite you.

We’ll also have some free snacks while supplies last and information about Smart911, a free service that allows you to create a Safety Profile with important information that can be available to 911 during an emergency. 📱🚨

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LAKE COUNTY 911 TEAM! 🏆

We are incredibly proud to announce that Lake County 911 has been named Team of the Year at the Indiana 911 Professionals Conference!!

This recognition is especially meaningful because it honors the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork displayed during the tornadoes that ravaged Lake County in June.

Representing the shift that worked through those difficult hours were:

When someone calls 911, your voice may be the first sign that help is on the way.

Lake County 911 is searching for calm, compassionate and dependable individuals who want more than just a job. This is an opportunity to build a meaningful career, serve your community and support law enforcement, fire and EMS responders when every second matters.

As a Public Safety Telecommunicator, you will answer emergency and nonemergency calls, gather critical information, provide lifesaving instructions and dispatch the appropriate public safety resources. You will become the connection between someone experiencing their worst moment and the responders ready to help.

Previous dispatch experience is not required. We provide the specialized training and certifications needed to prepare you for success.

Starting pay ranges from $23 to $29.50 per hour and includes health, vision and dental insurance, paid vacation, personal and sick time, PERF retirement benefits and opportunities for continued professional development.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, type at least 35 words per minute and successfully complete a background investigation.

If you communicate clearly, remain focused under pressure and want your work to make a real difference, we want to hear from you.
